Bourbon barrel beer? Its best on hand pump.
Well bourbon barrel beer is good too, but this is a whiskey thread, so whisky aged in old beer barrels is also good.
Basically, age all the things on all the wood.
I'm not much on bourbon barrel (or whatever) aged beers. I'd rather just have whiskey.
I have heard good things about the caskmates stuff tho. I need to pick up a bottle.

Got these a few days back...
The one in the middle is not something to just drink straight, at least not for me.. Need to find something to make with it.
The other two are pretty okay.

Dirty gin martini tonight. Shaken of course.

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.

Their base "Blended Canadian"
Ahhh haven't had it.
Try the 1912 Rye. It's pretty sweet, but really smooth. Great for sipping after dinner.

I've hit that 1897. While excellent, it is not mind blowingly better than my basic, IMHO.

How many too many?
Two doubles and a beer gave me a mild hangover for some reason. That doesn't usually happen. I may be dehydrated, or found a new comfort zone, say four drinks max.

Probably two too many. I also had wine with dinner so...
I mean, I wasn't raging
or anything, I just fell asleep sitting up in bed reading and woke up at 3 hours later at 1:30 am with the light on and the book in my lap.
Had trouble staying asleep after that,
