I found the original thread for sale on Grassroots sub $2k classifieds from 2012-13. Sold to a guy in 2013 then again in ~2016 to the person I bought it from.

https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum ... 094/page1/
Posting this for a good friend of mine, local to me and 16VCorey. I know Charlie has put a lot of work into this vee, could be a great deal for someone.

After hanging onto it for six years, I have found myself in a position where I need to sell my Formula Vee. I am moving (locally) and will no longer be able to store it, and in my current situation I could also use the cash.

The car has been local for its entire existence and has been owned throughout by members of the Southern Indiana Region. Mike Freeman is very familiar with the history of this car and I'm sure would be willing to fill in those interested in its pedigree.

Since I have owned it I have rebuilt several things on it, including the brakes, wiring, fuel system and safety gear, with autocrossing in mind. It has a 1600cc engine which I have all the parts except a bearing kit to rebuild. Included with the car are all the parts I have for it, many of which are brand new:

(2) AFCO 38-series double-adjustable shocks Kirkey stock car seat Impact 5-point harness Braille Battery (new and never connected) JAZ fuel cell Gear reduction starter from SR Racing New pistons/jugs for 1600 engine New heads for 1600 engine Dellorto DRLA 36mm carb and matching intake (recently rebuilt by Mark's Metric) Assortment of original parts, spare parts, etc which came with the car when I bought it

The car could be restored to its original condition for the purpose of vintage racing or to preserve as a vintage race car, and as my own research has uncovered, it is a fairly rare car to do so with. However, in the interest of full disclosure I do not believe the collection of parts I have for the car includes a complete set of original parts.

I am asking $2000 or best offer. I have a homebuilt (open) trailer that I bought with the car which is included in the price, but I am willing to separate.

Feel free to respond to this email at hendo_solo_vee at yahoo.com or call or text 270-860-1228 if you are interested.

Thanks,

Charlie Posey .,._

pic thread from the guy that did most of the updating.

https://www.facebook.com/charlie.posey. ... 171&type=3

saving specs from the guys old FB posts as he built it:
1600 dual port with a Pertronix kit and a single Dellorto 36mm DRLA carb. Car came with the Dellorto, which I had rebuilt by Mark's Metric in Boonville; I did the Pertronix kit. 12mm spark plugs DR7EA NGK
-Jamar mid-engine shift linkage
-Afco big-body double-adjustable on the front. This is actually a street-rod/pro touring shock but the length is right
-Pertronix distributor and new coil
- B 129 9-lb Braille battery
- gear reduction starter from SR racing
- 3 gallon JAZ fuel cell
-original pedal box
-8' throttle cable
-new VW Beetle master cylinders
-Kirkey alum racing seat with padded cover, mounted on a hinge for access (I didnt see any hinges)

the olde :dubshow: and :fax: got together this weekend to relocate the pedals. Still need to finalize and work out the gas, but the rest is done and was not even that bad to do.

pedal relocation complete. Confortable for both the :fax: and the :dubshow:

we also unfucked the throttle cable routing and made sure the throttle stop was adjusted properly. I just need to fab up and install a kickback for the throttle and adjust the steering box, then the body goes back on.

Is that a Beetle pedal box?

I thought the entire car is essentially a beetle so it would make sense

complete with new nylon locknut on the pedal hinge and a 'kickback' for the throttle. (NB: this is in case it gets stuck.)

That's what I thought but that brake pedal looks weird.

its the original "formula vee" box which was likely fabbed up in 1965 by the chassis builder.

If we ever feel frisky we might drop the coin for a really legit modern setup. That would take up way less space.

I'm debating on this one, on one hand I'd love to go out and show you two up, on the other hand, I can get some work done on the E30.

The last car Eric worked on, well the drive shaft fell off, so keep that in mind.

the current level of strip in e30 is impressive. Could be fast. Just wear a helmet on commute to new orleans.

How would you class it? :lolol:

I'm also over gimmicky events, the night event coming up, the enduro cross, and this one will be 3 runs one way, and then three runs backwards.
I just want six chances to do a course well, is that too much to ask?

welp, considering the original bolts where all missing or sheared, The new ones need better chemical fastening.

I honestly think thats all that was wrong after I pulled the trans down. But the new clutch was a good thing.
