after reading this thread, I'll do a little review on my MVMT watch.

First things first, I had a Nixon Sentry Chrono that I got for $250. So far, it was on it's 3rd battery and only had the watch for over a year. Needless to say, I looked around for replacement. As much as Nixon is a hyped company, while they look cool, they actually feel fragile, they stop ticking if you say throw it around.

MVMT does not feel fragile at all, just has a good blend of better quality of "feel" and durability, it's a pretty handsome watch, doesn't look cheap by looking at it and yet it's pretty darn cheap for what you get ($75 on cyber monday), adjusting the date and time is easy, even you could teach a 5 year old to do it. So far I have not regret this decision and hopefully use it for atleast 5 more years without little to no issue. Pictures are on 2nd page if you're curious.

I usually buy myself a watch each time I end a big contract and start a new one. They are usually a bit overkill though, I'll be wearing this one tomorrow for my son's birthday party but it usually just sits in a box nowadays.

CF?

:waxer:
Yep, CF.

Infamous got it for me for my 30th, I wear it every day and love it.

Fun story,

I was in an exec meeting with Dan Ammann (GM President) a few months ago, sitting next to him and he leans over and says "nice watch". Look down and he has the same one.

Which is odd, because it's not THAT expensive. $800 IIRC.

:lolol: :waxer: :scrooge:

I've been getting a lot of compliments on my DD Citizen lately. No idea why it's happening all of a sudden.

Dunno if I've posted here before: please forgive if senile McGillicutty repeats himself. I'm a big mechanical watch nerd, and sometimes enjoy working on them. Occasionally, I'll buy a lot of broken vintage watches on eBay and try my hand at fixing them. my success rate is about as good as a MLB batter. A buddy returned from a business trip to China and brought me several fakes, including the below Panerai. Well the Shoob is fake as F, but he don't rock fake watches, so I set to modifying it. PAM dials are 'sandwich', with the lume on the lower layer. I separated the dial, sanded it down to brass, and then dust coated it with a rattle can. Here's how it turned out:

That's an interesting take on wearing replicas, I'm kinda into it. Do you know what movement is in it?

It's a Panerai knock-off. It looks just like a PAM movement, at least at a glance. I've never opened a Panerai, so I can't attest to its' accuracy. It's not a run-of-the-mill Seagull.

On another note, If you're a fan of the cushion case that Panerai is famous for, there are some cool microbrands that make make cool versions. My favorite is http://www.magrette.com/shop/all/370040261 in New Zealand. They make some sweet watches, mostly with Miyota hacking seconds movement. I have their Dual Time:

Attention to detail is excellent. The quick release toggles on the straps are also genius.

Size wise, it may be a bit big on my wrist but I’ve gotta break the straps in a bit and wear it a bit.

Love the design though.
