There was nothing wrong with him when we went to bed as far as we knew; he would have been 7 in February (his birthday is exactly 2 weeks before mine).
There was a large fluid/blood filled sack surrounding his heart, slowly crushing it. We couldn't let him suffer in pain so we put him down with all of us (me, gf, and our Boston). He passed with his head in my arms.
So sorry to hear that. This is my biggest fear in the world.

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.

You did the right thing, doe. It was the kindest thing you could have done for him and you did it right. Still terribly sad.
When we had to put our rabbit down I cried on and off all weekend, but knew it was the right call. I know what you're going through.
Every pet owner has to think about this and keep it in the back of their head before deciding to get a pet.

For sure. Like I said, the timing sucks, but by and large I'm this motherfucker right here.... I just need to remind myself of that and handle shit. Looks to be a solo Christmas dinner effort, lol.
Looks like Chinese for Christmas!
Bruh I ain't reliant on women to do my cooking for me. Beef Wellington and everything else will come out on time and on target.

Yes it's a cool car. But prepare the lube/sawdust.

Fuck.
Sorry man. But bright side. She didn't hit her head or wrench her back.
Turned out to be a grade 4 sprain. So we'll elevate and ice and hope for the best.

I know the feels.
I still get melancholy when I see pics of my little guy, 6 years later.

Our bunny died like that when I was in high school. It was sick, had a cold of some sort, and we were giving it medicine. It died right before it was supposed to get its medicine for the day, it was in my mom's arms and after a few convulsions it passed. I wasn't close with it though. I can't imagine that happening to my dog or cat. I teared up a bit reading this.
Got home from urgent care and the paint is all bubbled where the wall meets the ceiling in my daughter's bedroom. Roof leak. This day is turning out to be quite a doozy.

I don't really understand men OR women with no cooking skills. In America, you eat three times a day? Why wouldn't you develop some proficiency at it?
It's not that I can't, I just won't. I hate cooking.

We are perfectly fine with our decision. It was absolutely the right thing to do; not having him here is the hardest part. I was glad he went with all of us by his side.
My eyes are blood-shot and hurt from crying on and off all day, I am sure this will go on for a couple days at least.

DFD. The forum where everybody makes the same choices and then tells anybody trying to join the club that they are the stupidest motherfucker to ever walk the earth.

My gf's Ridgebacks have usually been around 12-14 years old before passing on.
She has been showing/breeding Ridgebacks for over 12 years, so she's been part owner of many Ridgebacks.
