We could do it on the fireplace mantle as well. And I want faux beams in the ceiling, they could all match. But I think since the floors are wood look, as long as the stain was similar it wouldn't look out of place.Calvinball wrote:That's what I originally thought, just wasn't sure if it would look out of place since there isn't any anywhere else.haleyann wrote: Maybe, I feel like the kitchen has plenty of white so I was looking into other options. Like stained and sealed wood.

And it gives my girlfriend more space to pile her dirty dishes in instead of shoving them in the dishwasher. YAY ARGUMENTS!
We love our single large sink for exactly the reasons you mention, though it does occasionally lead to the conflict you also mention!
Here is our sink getting installed so there was no faucet yet.

Butcher block counter. Can stain it any color. If it gets ugly you can refinish it.haleyann wrote:Trying to figure out what to do with the "bar" on the island. We didn't have enough quartz so I'm looking at other options. Any ideas?

We love it. Made in Switzerland. Was a bit but the size is great and that ridge around the middle lets you put a grate in about half way up. It is actually 2 pieces so you can put one on either the left or right side, in addition to having a full size grate in the bottom. Really makes it flexible and useful.[user not found] wrote:Now that's a fucking sink.

This is ours. It's a cat magnet because my gf leaves shit in it constantly and doesn't clean up after herself. They managed to pull an entire 2-3 pound pork roast that was defrosting the other day.
Also possible. Or laminate is looking pretty cool these days. I'm leaning towards wood though, I think it would be neat to have it made by my dad[user not found] wrote:Black quartz or dark grey?haleyann wrote:Trying to figure out what to do with the "bar" on the island. Trim needs to get installed on a few spots. I need to spackle and smooth out the transition from painted wood paneling to plaster wall , paint the whole damn room, fix the sink, correct the fucked up cabinet lighting they installed wrong, re-do wiring for the cabinet lighting where they put a fucking junction box on top of the cabinets that's visible from the ground...

Some pics before I started moving in
The whole place is a mess right now. But I'll post pics again once things get put away. Signed papers on the condo yesterday and cleared out the rest of my stuff. So happy to not have the noisy child above me anymore!
