:crangshaft: says :hai:

His gf was driving his GTI with him riding shotgun and she inserted wheel into huge pothole. Tire got fucked, was replaced for free. Wheel bearing is :fullretard:

But GTI is (still) running fine on v2.4 with bandaid shaft fix.

She probably bent the wheel. Doubt the bearing is FUBAR'd. Could have also bent a control arm or tie rod if it was hit that hard.

Although I did have two rear wheel bearings / drum brakes explode when I hit some construction on the PA turnpike once. Driving along at ~70 MPH, road dipped and BAM I'm on cheese grater resurfacing project. Came up to a bridge and they didn't transition it to the concrete. BOOM. Blasted those wheel bearings to absolute shit.

LA has some pretty bad roads...the expressways in particular.

Speaking of which, how much does your mk6 goes on sale for? Assuming $15k max

I would also bet its on one of its best conditions in the area, given its an FL car most of its life, so no rust
