OT 21: DFD Giveth and DFD Taketh Away
5 weeks in with baby Bea. Was going smoothly then she stopped gaining weight. Unsure of the reason but she can no longer breastfeed. She’s not taking any milk from Lisa. So back to bottles and looking into a possible tongue tie. I can’t do this again. The tongue tie exercises and oral function stuf...

I hope Val is doing alright. What they’re going through can’t be easy and I hope they have the support they need.

Car Talk 6: Best of times and Worst of Times
Our last infant seat was a Graco. It seemed ok. Well new crash reports came out and that used to be ranked high and now it’s awful. So we got a new one since we needed a new stroller anyway, went with Uppababy since they’re high reviewed. Good lord this infant seat is enormous and weighs a fucking ...

It's like... :mk6: -esque in size by my estimation. :dat: The caddy and alfa are about a class size down in rear seat space when compared to a 3 series which is why they got dq'ed when I was looking. Yeah it’s out. Realistically I’d never buy one anyway due to premium fuel but too bad nonetheless.

Ah balls. Yeah way too small for the child fortresses that are rear facing car seats. It's unreal how big those things are. Our last infant seat was a Graco. It seemed ok. Well new crash reports came out and that used to be ranked high and now it’s awful. So we got a new one since we needed a new s...

https://i.postimg.cc/4YhfJg3P/IMG-4242.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/kDfXssZQ/IMG-4243.jpg Back seat in the Alfa was pretty small, I’d be pretty uncomfortable sitting behind myself for more than 30 minutes. I could ride behind myself in the 328i all day. I’m tall but my legs are relatively short and I s...

How’s the back seat space behind you? Usable by a toddler? I love these cars.

:dat: The whole :tits: can't drive :manuel: like once/month or whatever is such a :bs: :pout: :seriously: argument. Like, my mom is the worst driver I've ever ridden with and daily drove a manual in Lake Effect PA winters for decades. :whocares: I'm not asking anyone to 'suffer through it' everyday...

Most of it. Both fenders need to be redone with the badges pulled so it's done correctly. Roof to get rid of the dirt underneath and because it's peeling up at the corner. Fix the weather stripping on the roof which he didn't do and the b pillar bubbles. The think the front bumper is okay despite h...

Yeah if you want / require a manual there’s not a whole ton of options that aren’t old as dirt. I’d probably off it and find something with a real back seat that could sling a kid around occasionally. This might be a dumb suggestion so go ahead and laugh me off the forum. But what about something l...

So far it's radio silence from Covrgard. I messaged them on their site and emailed them. Detailer of doom thinks I'm just dropping the car tomorrow for the b pillar. Should I give him a prior warning for all my issues or ream him out in person? Was planning to do it in person but then if he says he...

Chalk it up as a loss and have it redone by someone competent maybe. Could call the local high end dealerships and see who they use. They likely contract that out. I'm already about $2800 in the hole with this dude. Pay another shop to remove + install more film. Woof. It would all add up to be abo...

I did see an Ineos yesterday and it looked quite :neat: I’m still at 0 of those. They seem shockingly well built for a brand new car company Seen a few hanging out at the Ferrari dealer. They seem.... decent? I dunno. The side attachment rail things are stupid. But otherwise the truck seems decent.

So I’m making a list of sports cars that would be within each price bracket that are decent … 1. GR86 (30-40k) 2. Type R Shitvic (40-50k) 3. M2 (60-70k) 4. C8 (70-80k) 5. M3 (75-85k) 6. Carrera T (130-140k) I ran the ownership numbers too … cheapest is GR86 (duh) at $793 a month Carrera T is $2230 ...

Borrowed my mom’s Honda Insight for a trip with the kid. It’s basically a civic hybrid. Maybe a bit too small and typical Honda poor assembly quality. But 62 mpg is pretty dece and it’s not awful to drive. Handles ok. Hybrid is clunky in operation. Maybe an accord hybrid would be good as a dad car. ...

Saw a couple cyber trucks recently. Wrapped ones look hilariously stupid. The stock stainless looks alright I guess. Certainly unique. I wouldn’t buy one but whatever.
I’m meh on it.

You know what would have been helpful? Leading with this information to give context as to why I should limp a 30yo AC system along. This is something I did not know and is very helpful knowledge.
