Most miles driven on a given vehicle. List em out!

I bought the R32 brand new in April of 2004 with 45 miles on it. It rolled over 141k last week. None of the other things I've had come close. Second place for me is the S2K with 15k miles in ~3.5 years.

Re: Jefé's Rides

The SS50 Is ALIVE. Shop just called me and they are buttoning things up early next week. It sounds like this thing was way more of a Frankenstein than I thought and the shop went through and fixed up a lot of things. I'm excited. Motor that is now in it is a 140cc Piranha semi-auto with electric sta...

Re: So I bought some useless junk recently...

If you'd like to borrow my budget one for a few months, Im open. Can help you get your feet wet. I'll keep that in mind. We're probably going to go down the gaming PC path first as it's something we're both interested in. The 3D printer, that's all me. [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Getting Greasy in the Big Easy

I've been there 8 or 9 times. In terms of Adult R&R I put it head and shoulders above Las Vegas. A week in the FQ is a bit more than my body can take these days, but maybe some day I'll go there and not abuse myself. I've been to Vegas 3 times and NOLA I think 4 or 5. Absolutely agree. The last...

Re: So I bought some useless junk recently...

The convo about 3D printers lead me down a path. Been thinking about one but haven't pulled the trigger. Probably won't. But we are seriously talking about doing a legit gaming PC build for iRacing, VR, etc. All told with montiors, peripherals... Probably looking at like $4k. That lead to talk of di...

Car/Moto 2020 Resolutions

I'll see if I can hunt them down  Heh, I feel ya Brad. I was only in the rental house for 18 months so you would have thought with that move I'd "discovered" things from storage. Nope. When we moved over summer I definitely stumbled across some "hm, when did I buy that?" it...

I highly recommend the method of renting an exotic for 1-2 weeks a year to appease that want. You also drive more than me daily so that might not satisfy what you are looking for. thats a good point. I need to hit walt up and take an exotic for a spin. That power might be a terrible addiction thoug...

Car/Moto 2020 Resolutions

I love my :gorf: but I want something with serious power. :notsure: I have fought this urge for several years now. But looking at how little I drive, it wasn't worth the money to buy and maintain something with powah. I highly recommend the method of renting an exotic for 1-2 weeks a year to appeas...

Yes (Insta). There were also donuts. I believe Señor Melon has the engine cover.

Upon return, that car needed tires, brakes, and probably a head gasket.

Blatantly ripped off from Jalop. Whatcha got planned for 2020? https://jalopnik.com/tell-us-your-automotive-new-year-resolutions-1840747270 - Rallycross the R32 again (it's been 18 months or so) and then either keep rallycrossing it or look for another vehicle if I'm going to continue to play in the...

Well when Sno is done with her fancy shmancy job y'all can come further south. You know the food is good, the people are okay, and the summers in full moto gear will have you sweat all the meat and booze right off.

it's pretty typical to not insulate outdoor spaces such as garage or attached storage. my garage is not insulated. :fax: Good point. I have given up on the idea that the jackasses that did the work did anything beyond bare bones on this house. It all looks nice, but they cut so many corners. I won'...

Side note: during all of this I discovered that the builder didn’t insulate the exterior walls which is lame considering they’re finished. I’ll fill them with cellulose at some point. I'm pretty sure there are several new walls in our place that the contractors didn't insulate. Why else would the l...

This is what a Mazda 3 transmission mount is supposed to look like. https://i.imgur.com/qhLtxNJ.jpg?1 This is what I pulled off the car tonight. Oh nice! I love the epoxy floors! Does the final coat contain sand to keep the surface from getting slick? How much? I likey! Great looking place sir! Thanks! Yes it has color chips to make it less slippy and to the break up the expanse of gray. It was about $2k to have done. Four coats including c...

Re: Jefé's half a house

The open space interior and no carpet anywhere were big selling points. I'm pretty happy with the garage set up as well, just need some lighting improvements. I had the floors epoxy coated before we moved in.

The Bookworm thread aka whatcha reading

Read some good shit this year, but all over the place in terms of topics.

I got into the 87th Precinct series and am about to start book 5. Pretty easy to consume and a nice change of pace from a lot of non-fiction.

Over the summer my partner and I bought a house. https://i.imgur.com/ktoTILl.jpg Her first, my second. Three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, 2 car garage, 2200ish square feet in the Parker Lane neighborhood about 4.5 miles from the city center. The house was built in 1963 and was a flip. We bought it compl...

Last but not least, the rest of the fleet. If you are here for the story of the SS50, you'll have to wait. The project has been a roller coaster, and I'd rather tell it all after it is running and I ride it home. Sorry, not sorry. The CB300F is great. No other mod plans for it, just keep riding it. ...

Let's start with an update on the R32. Nothing is keeping the car from being driven, but there are some things in the "that could get worse quickly" category. The upper radiator hose is leaking, and if I replace that, I might as well replace the auxiliary radiator that has been attached to...
