Oooo a defender.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 3:55 pm My dream 2024 landscape involves not spending a dime on home improvement or cars. Wife wants a Defender
Yeah. Cool truck. BUT, as has been thoroughly sliced and diced by Max, the straight 6 is overly complex in a brand known for its LACK of reliability, and the V8 is preposterously expensive. Fuck everything is expensive. A Brostang with a Tremec transmission is 62 thousand dollars. What a time to be alive.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 9:06 pmOooo a defender.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 3:55 pm My dream 2024 landscape involves not spending a dime on home improvement or cars. Last i check a mustang gt is a blue collar sports car, $62k grand is not a reasonable blue collar price to me.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 9:16 pmYeah. Cool truck. The Defender is a looker though. I may be able to put it off until 2025. See above.
The 6 is "ok" technically a straight 6 is basically the most reliable engine type one can buy... but unfortunately that one comes with an electric supercharger and a turbocharger... so far they are holding up...Desertbreh wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 9:16 pmYeah. V8 defender monthly cost is $2500 a month btw... a near $700 premiummax225 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 1:43 pmThe 6 is "ok" technically a straight 6 is basically the most reliable engine type one can buy... but unfortunately that one comes with an electric supercharger and a turbocharger... so far they are holding up...Desertbreh wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 9:16 pm

The cost of operating a cheap defender (75k msrp) is $1800 a month for the first 4 years... and that to me is just insane. They are starting to show up used for reasonable pricing... for ex you can get a V8 for about 20k less than new... which is

nearly 6 figures still...
Also I hear that the V8 is not that much noticeably faster to drive than the i6.. however it makes all the noises so... yea.. that's worth something.
I'm just OVER spending money right now. I just want to lie low in my Kirkland Signature gear and enjoy my life in 2024.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 1:50 pmV8 defender monthly cost is $2500 a month btw... a near $700 premiummax225 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 1:43 pm

December is a BAD month......every mother's son wants their money. Insurance premiums, RE taxes, on and on and on. I feel like I'm crawling out of the laundry at Shawshank.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 2:11 pmShit got really expensive...Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 2:09 pm
