Can’t speak for the pay area but SoCal roads seemed pretty sweet to me when I was there in July.

Some rough surfaces here and there but none of the frost heaves, lunar craters, or bottomless pits like we have in PA/NJ.

Come visit. :hubba:
CA is like everywhere else, the interstates are maintained pretty well, city secondary streets are shit, back roads are generally pretty good due to low use. The San Fernando Valley has some of the shittiest roads I've seen (number one spot goes to Detroit, Chris took me to some areas with potholes bigger than the Detroit Lambo). But despite the Valley being flat, you couldn't really rock a :poorvette: there as you'd high center and bottom out in the drainage ditches in the middle of the fucking intersections.
It really depends... which "interstates" you're talking about. The ones that are outside of major cities are completely fine, but the Intra Urban interstates were epic shit... They are starting to get a bit better, but we're driving on glorified gravel at point. Thankfully there has been a pretty significant repaving effort as of late. The roads on my way to work were so BAD in my 370z it was the main reason why I sold it... I couldn't talk on the phone or talk to my passenger due to road noise... due to the completely FUBARED freeways...

And of course with :mahtroy: luck they repaved it 6 months after I got the 335i.

Bikes.

I can go out and hammer on any one of my bikes and get the same thrills plus a workout.
I bike, kayak, and camp. To me, that's more fun than blowing a Saturday driving 4 hours to a track, having "fun" for a few hours, then driving 4 hours back home. OR worse, driving a fun car daily behind endless :derp: s who find posting to instagram more fun than driving.

Sad but true. I'm happiest when I'm away from people. Fun cars are only a source of frustration to me. Derping :aintcare: in my bright orange lego mobile with the top off is the most "fun" I can have on a commute anymore.

Took me almost an hour to drive 9 miles home from work today. That was light traffic apparently.

I don't mind slow drivers if I'm in a dopey automatic thing. I mind in a stick shift car. I actually rage the fuck out a lot driving stick shift.

They are city cars... on the smaller wheels they should ride fine. My jcw rides much better than an sti, I imagine a pooper s on 16s vs 18” run flats would run even better. Also no overhangs and they have 4 doors and I’m sure it’ll run on regular ...

Premium required on the S models. Base is a 3 cyl. Nope.
35 MPG on premium is equivalent to 25 MPG on regular where I live. For a car that I'd buy to not care about driving that makes zero sense.
