Why not just M3 then?
[user not found]'s pessimistic optimism
S6 and S7 do have V8's with 450ish HP I think? Athough the cars themselves aren't brand new like the A4/5.[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2019 9:19 pmSell me on this. What's the advantage of this over a new s4 or S5?
I think they also have DCT's over the regular autos in the S4/5. Could be a positive or negative depending on what you like.

Especially when $64K can get you a brand new something with a supercharged V8. It may not be a wagon at that point, but it also won't have 35K on the clock.[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2019 7:48 pmThis. The only people that want them and would spend that money don't actually have the money.
It's also spent 160 days on Car Gurus and counting. So, it looks like everybody shares that same opinion.

The only people that want them are not only people that don't have the money, but also people that somehow have money they want to burn.
My dad spent $60k on a 2013 with 25k miles on it two years ago. It could have been $80k and he still would have paid it. He just wanted a 550hp wagon. Every single event he takes it to, another old offers cash to buy it. They all view it as "collectible" and foam at the mouth of the thought of it rolling through Barrett Jackson in 2040 and fetching a half a million or whatever.

Old: "Hey, nice car! Is it..." (looks in window and sees ) "ZOMG A STICK"
Dad: "Heh, of course"
Old: "You selling? I'll pay cash. I love these things"
Dad: "Not for sale."
Old: "Well here's my card, call me if you want to sell. I'll pay good money"
Dad:
What's funny about these cars is how cramped the driver's seat is. I had to move the car yesterday to get my on the lift to do the oil change, and it's remarkable how high the lowest setting on the seat is. It's really not comfortable to drive if you're taller than say 6'2". I don't think I'd buy one.

Your dad should throw out some stupid number like $120k when someone asks to buy it for cash.Detroit wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 9:31 amNo. It usually goes like this:

Sadly the CTS in general, and especially the wagon, is packaged poorly like so many modern cars... The wagon has less space than a mk7 Golf IIRC - not the sportwagen, the regular hatch.Detroit wrote:No. It usually goes like this:

Yea...it's a weird one. Super cramped inside for such a large car.troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 9:42 amSadly the CTS in general, and especially the wagon, is packaged poorly like so many modern cars... Right. If money is irrelevant, than you buy and enjoy what you like.

I have no doubts that they’re great.
In all reality even the 328 fake sport is pretty good. It’s just not exciting enough for my tastes.

The Alfa is amazingggggg and I hope it's fixed but I'm not the kind of guy that always needs "better" to be happy.
There is a large portion that the Alfa leaves on the table 360 days a year that an S4/5 or M340 might only 200 days a year. Slow car fast etc.
You're not gonna be happy unless you're going mach 2 with your hair on fire and you know it.
