I am not a fan of Infiniti. Chintzy inside, I hate the double screen layout, and the control ergonomics are awful. I’ve had the unique luxury of climbing in and out of a lot of cars over the years, and while most you can get in and drive without much of an issue, the dash layout of the Q50 provides some unnecessary challenge.
And that’s before you get into how boring the whole Q50 lineup is to drive.
Infinitis are not that great. They’re just fancy Nissans.
Yeah id agree with double screens and it would irritate the hell out of me. Ive been in my friends ‘15 qx50 from time to time and it seemed alright as far as infotainment appeared to look fairly easy to use (aka previous g37 era infotainment mind you), but definitely doesn’t hold candle to the big germans. While the trans on that car is smooth from what i felt, i cannot speak about its drivability.
I once saw an 10 year old infiniti fx(w/e) and the dash has bubbles all across, so clearly the quality aren’t that great for long term

I vote S5 Sportback.
is my vote, too. Or a slightly used S7, or Macan S (even though it's a crossover, it performs like a car)
Of course this is where I chime in. Macan S is great, with its performance pack, you can sent power to rear and front wheels, like the sport + sends 80 percent to the rear wheels.
I’d also get an S5, great for PA winters

So Porsches are worse piles of shit than Alfas?
Running costs, mainly. Driving it around 30k a year takes a hefty chunk out of your wallet.
A 40k maintenance cycle (10k basic, 20k intermediate, 30k basic plus spark plugs, 40k major) is about $4400.
Plus $1800 tire sets and $1700/axle brake jobs.
Why the fk is a Porsche going through brakes like that? My M3 says 150k miles on the fronts and 130k
Miles on the rear brakes per the computer. Rest is comparable if you care to send your sa to the Caribbean, or 1/10 the cost of you can wrench yourself.
I’m going to put the Infiniti thing back on your list. I had a redsport as a rental a couple years ago and found it enjoyable. It’s a good GT car with plenty of power and a decent flappy paddle transmission. Noises and autoblip downshift a plenty.
I can’t say much about steering feel, as I didn’t get into much hooning, but I do know that I left the Hertz guard shack with a pair of sideways 11’s. Based on your driving style and use case, I think it’ll work just fine.
I’m fully aware that my interior standards are MUCH lower than [user not found]’s...or anyone else here really. But I found the controls and layout easy enough to adapt to. Seats are quite comfortable and supportive (and I get pretty snobbish about seats).
Anyways, I think it deserves a look and a drive. Though I think deep down inside you’ve already decided on the CLA45.

30-50k miles is about average for a standard set of brakes for about 90% of the public, but it of course varies from driver to driver.
Also, in the OP he mentioned the commute possibly going up to 110 miles a day... figuring 48 weeks of commuting a year it’s easily over the 25k mark and adds up quickly.

They need to redo their infotainment stuff. I like the cars overall though, really great looking outside, nice inside. New engine seems good. I think it's a neat budget option but in the company of an M3 and RS3 I think it's a bit outgunned.
Depends on priorities I guess. As a highway slogger GT car, it could be a great pick. But so could a Stinger or Genesis G70.
[user not found] wrote:My ONLY issue with the Stinger is that I think it looks super awkward. It's proportions are off.
In that case, the G80 is the same car. I prefer the Stinger look (and the hatch). G70 is likely better to drive since it's smaller+lighter but could be tight for a full sized family.
