And the tablet is glued to the dash. So the CF are always looking forward never behind and never down. That is so wholesome of Mazda.Apex wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 12:16 pmWhy look outside when the CF are glued to tablets and smartphones all day long?Johnny_P wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 12:12 pm
There was a massive difference going from my GTI to the WRX. The Subaru is so easy to see out of. I like being able to see things.
Also that C pillar and the rising belt line can kids even see out the back of the Mazda 3 hatch? It’s like the Toyota CHR which is a little tykes barf machine.

There is nothing interesting outside of the car, why bother having windows?

The epic greenhouse in my recent 2006 E-Class vs. the 2008 CLS 550 we got rid of is a day and night difference, pun intended. The CLS was really in the vanguard of greenhouse destruction in the name of style points and the killing fields never end. Evoque all the things. Fucking sucks.

I don’t like that.
Yeah it's pretty cave-like. I don't think I mind that too much if the forward and side view is ok. I'm more wondering how bad the back seat views are, with that giant kink starting before the door ends it's like they WANT my dog to barf in the back seat.

It's not like people actually use their fucking mirrors anyway.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 7:04 amThe people behind you don't matterfledonfoot wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 8:42 pm https://jalopnik.com/the-2019-mazda-3-h ... 1830754940
I don’t like that.
Honestly, it's only slightly worse than the FiST. They'd help themselves a bit if they could fold down the rear head rests. I'm assuming this has a back-up cam, so this is really a non-issue IMO.

Blind spot monitors, side mirrors, etc, likely not a massive deal as long as forward view is good.

Yeah, fuck being able to see. Just rely on the computers. Reverse camera only works when you're in reverse, who cares what's behind you at any other time? Fuck everyone else.4zilch wrote:It's not like people actually use their fucking mirrors anyway.

Cameras instead of windows is literally what they use on tanks. It's functional as far as not hitting obstacles but does not provide an open feeling cabin.[user not found] wrote:360 cam works in forwards too.troyguitar wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 8:55 am Yeah, fuck being able to see. My problem with the lack of visibility in modern cars is not "I can't see, therefore I will hit things" - it's "I can't see, therefore I don't feel good in the cabin"

Pictures can be deceptive. I've seen many cars that looked clean in pictures and were rolling heaps in person.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 8:42 pm https://jalopnik.com/the-2019-mazda-3-h ... 1830754940
I don’t like that.
I'll wait until I physically sit in one.

That. And so does angling the phone to block the side window with a headrest.[user not found] wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 1:17 pmAlso, wide angle lens on a cameraphone will amplify the tunnelvision.Huckleberry wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 12:23 pm

I like the C5 remarkably more with the clear targa top on than body colored. There is no actual improvement in anything other than "vibe"/feelings.
One of the things I love about driving is how much of the world you get to see. That said I drove a Bang Bus almost 100k miles with zero rear visibility and survived, but I would never choose that.

The visibility is fine. I sat in the backseat of ours for the first time last week and it has no headroom for the linebacker crew. I was clautrophobic at 5'11". Nothing at all like the greenhouse/ back seat room of the W211 E350, which is like a limousine by comparison.
