I never understood the point of electric cars with double digit ranges. I mean yea... "everyone drives less than 50 miles a day" type scenarios but that essentially confines the car to a city.
Pure EVs with double digit ranges make zero sense. Hell, anything with less than 300 miles range is a tough sell in a lot of the country IMO.
I dunno 300 miles range is actually found in a lot of vehicles, my m3 is 300, m2 is 250, RX8 is 200, WRX STI is 200-240 tops. All the AMG benzes are sub 300 as well. IMO 200 or less is not ok. That means 2x a week getting gas for most people. Some say I do. Gas stations are and you have to deal with the scum that roams around putting $5 cash in a tank every other day.

Where's the infrastructure? Plus, charging tech isn't there to make topping up range fast enough yet.
I'm talking about mass adoption here. Sure, we'll see lots more EV stuff, and that's fine and well. But when you can actually buy a 300 mile range EV for $30k and top up the range anywhere in under 10 minutes then we'll talk about mass adoption. That's going to take decades.

It all depends on personal use. I go places that you can't fly to. But I like being in the middle of nowhere because I hate people.
The issue is all the people that think they go on a on of road trips and won't consider EV's as a result. That's going to be a big hurdle.
I still think plug-ins are the answer in the short term. I'm really curious to see what the Wrangler plug-in looks like.
