Some become companions and are harder to let go than others.
I know this given my experience with the R; 14 years is a long time and there were countless "firsts". Stupid feelings. That car will get sold when it's scrap.

14 yrs is a long time to own anything. I think the longest ive owned any motor vehicle is 5.5-6years. Perhaps I never have them long enough to form a bond..

twas clean with 5 owners before myself in 2015. Lived most of its live in AZ. It went dark and someone showed up in Prairieville, LA circa 2005-7.

Chassis logged ~202k miles at that point from records. Cluster was ~190k from the swap. Ironically it was only about 1/2 mile from my moms house. I think that is the person that did the m20b25 swap. It then wound up in Lake Charles for a few years and the kid I bought it from picked it up about 2011-12 in not running shape.

PO kid didnt really know what he was doing but with a hackjob of things made the car run. I think he bought the car for $800 in not running shape. It came with tons of junk yard pulled parts. I carried the torch a good way from that point. Melon assisted. And now its in capable hands.

I look forward to seeing its progress/changes.
i don't even get an honorable mention for my saturday's? :(

Brad even sliced his hand installing the rear shock.

Cleaned up the garage. Got it stuffed pretty tight, but all the things have a dry place to sleep.

So, I don't fit in the car 100%.

Looking at a new steering wheel and seat.

Got it narrowed down to a few, and looking for some input.

1) Corbeau GTS II

2) Sparco R100

3) Summit Racing Sport
Ultimate :scrooge:

Corbeau's look the most "period-correct" to me and what I would look for, if not going :fullretard: track car, as long as :melon: fits in them.

one thing I didnt realize at first: Corbeau is $740 for the PAIR. Summit is $160 for each so $320 for two. The sport seat is a $100-200 thing in the pass side. Its only about a $400 difference which is that bad considering its a part of the car you use often.

Get some cool vintage ones used, they'll be more durable and retain their value.

thats a $600-1200 thing :mahtroy:

decent e30 sport seats command a high premium.

:whocares:

Is :melon: going to keep the car for eternity? If not, then resale value is more important than initial purchase price.

I like these even though they're probably fake:

A) Period seats are small, and I am not.

B) I'd be more inclined to do this if car was numbers matching, which it is not.

c) Good ones are really s'pensive.
