We miss Detroit because he's one of the pack, mang. Also #1 poster. Also just a damn good dude in general. I enjoyed his house and car build threads, and he added genuinely good content to this place. When you lose 1 person here you lose 10% of the daily content.
Streaming? I love the Ken Burns docs.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 8:20 pmI've been reluctant to dig in because I thought it would be depressing. But perhaps I should4zilch wrote:Just finished Ken Burn Vietnam documentary. 5/7 Possibly better than his Civil War and WWII docs.
It is, but also very eye opening. I hadn't had much exposure to the details of the war prior to watching it. It does a good job telling the N. Vietnamese side, the American side, the political fuckery, and the anti-war movements.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 8:20 pmI've been reluctant to dig in because I thought it would be depressing. It was streaming here http://www.pbs.org/kenburns/the-vietnam-war/home/ but it looks like they took it down and are asking you to pay nowMelon wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 8:59 pmStreaming? Yeah, it's such a Hallmark of politician controlled warfare. I found all my father's service papers from Vietnam, some heavy reading for sure.4zilch wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 9:07 pmIt is, but also very eye opening. Definitely a sad time in history for all involved. The social divisions at that time, aren't much different than we're seeing today.
Thanks man, bookmarked.4zilch wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 9:11 pmIt was streaming here http://www.pbs.org/kenburns/the-vietnam-war/home/ but it looks like they took it down and are asking you to pay now

The similarities between then and now are impossible to ignore. War is a nasty business, to be avoided at all costs.

I'll pay to watch it, I'm sure it's worth every penny
