Take a look at CLA 45 AMG now, 300 hp out of a 4 banger. We have come a long way.

Yeah its not fast. Really his MK6 is probably just as quick.
This is why old cars are mostly stupid propositions. New cars are faster, more reliable, better built, quieter, handle better....
Thing is, the 308 feels really special when you're driving it. It's not the best to drive overall, but
the theater this car puts on is incredible and very entertaining.
I liked the Cayman a hell of a lot more though.
is the only problem with current cars. They're better in virtually every way except they often don't feel special like some old cars always will. You can't really engineer in those intangibles I guess.

Yup. And much more reliable and fuel efficient and safe. But wouldn't you really prefer to drive a Countach or 512 if you could?

cars are becoming more isolated to the driver when it comes to feedback, even newer cars are more electric car like, as if we are actually heading to that direction.

I always thought the Hawaii 5-0 Mercury would be a great cruiser. Loved the look of the mercury cyclones, galaxie, cougars, fairlanes. Subtle class without trying to look gaudy and over the top like Cadillac and Lincoln.
