This is likely the most rational purchase on this board since the 1SMP.
Can't touch a mid engine car that offers decent/good steering feel, cheap ass parts/reliability etc for sub 5k anywhere.

Poorsche would be way better to look at and have more power. But racing a poorshe is more for rich ppl... shit will break and be pricy, and all consumables are multiples of $ more expensive.

You essentially got a gokart with AC and some safety around you. And a decent class.

Mostly because I too want a cheap ass tiny drop top with no power. Just can't have one right now.

It looks like a fun car. Would be a disaster as an only car. Overall a Miata is more usable, a Boxster maybe more special, but this is quite unique and is basically the cheapest to buy and own mid-rear vehicle on the market.
