Could bomb.com it back to Detroit and expense the miles?

Yea makes sense. Damn it is tough to be a car guy in Detroit with everything considered. Shitty roads, can't drive for 1/2 the year. Can mainly drive domestics only etc etc.

You'd be surprised how many car people drive non-domestics. We have a bit of everything out here, especially with younger people. The old guys cling to their hot rods and muscle cars, but there's a pretty large VAG presence (North America VAG was HQ'd here for ages), and I see a surprising number of BMWs and Japanese stuff by kidz.
The roads do indeed blow, and they're also straight AF...which makes me want to just drive a Demon or something 1/4 mile at a time everywhere. Putting the car away for the winter does blow, but it's kind of nice because it keeps the wear, tear, and miles low...and every spring is almost like a new event getting your own car back.

Yep, that would be the plan.
Problem is, I really don't want another car in the fleet since I don't have the space. I'd rather not make any moves until I have a free garage space because it could take months to sell the C5 unless I want to take a deal, which I don't. I like the car, and would only off it for the right price ($18k would be a DONE DEAL). Now that it seems that C6GS's are reasonable (or what I consider to be), it might be time to see if I can do something this year. Sell the C5 in the spring, and keep an eye out for the right car/deal.
Thing only thing is, a stock C6GS is slower than Camdalf.

It isn’t because it actually comes with tires/wheels that can actually put the power down.Detroit wrote: ↑Tue Mar 13, 2018 8:42 pmYep, that would be the plan.

FWIW, the tires I have are OLD and pretty worn. They came with the Z06 wheels that I bought for $500, so they owe me nothing. If I put decent tires on it (which I plan to do this spring), it should be a different story. More WHP and gearz, breh.

Nah, I've actually volunteered to take it. Now that I've moved offices, I have easier access to EV charging than I used to and she does. Commuting for free is pretty great.

I but I think you’re still fairly limited by wheelsize as well. Z06 is around 10.5” rear vs 12” on the c5.2 gs. Dang that blue one is such a good deal... I should just pay cash for it and call it a day

305 is about the max width...but a lot of that is the availability of 18" tires (not many wide).
Which goes back to my point about sidewalls on our garbage roads...
That blue car has serious potential for real, doe.

I think could commit to a C6GS for 5 years. Hell, I'll have my C5 for 4 years in October. Realistically, it's not going anywhere.

Top Gear did a ride along with the new FiST.

They also added no-lift-shift - seems gimmicky. Give me a DCT or, better yet, a sequential shift gear box.

Maybe, like 1-in-a-million maybe, they'll bring it over after a couple of years in Europe...[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Mar 14, 2018 8:48 amWhat a shame we're not getting it.4zilch wrote: ↑Wed Mar 14, 2018 8:20 am Top Gear did a ride along with the new FiST.

The wife was asking about a FiST as an eventual replacement for the MINI.
Side note: I'd like to build this little track in my back yard after I win the Power Ball.
