I ran 13.7 @109 last week. Car wheel hops terrible.
Y'all think the CTR wheel hops, the Integra Type R felt like it was going to break the dash it hopped so bad on Falken Azenis. That car was the last FWD car I owned that I took to the strip. Just not worth breaking something due to hop.
Every time I see a Hype R review I have to remind myself that I never drive on glass smooth pavement. Roads like that don't exist over here.
They supposedly ride just like your car.
Although those wheels would be all but destroyed in 2 months where I drive.
Add in it's FWD only and leaning super heavily on the sticky tires to make it all happen and :nothanks:

Oh yeah that too. Being able to flat foot the car with no shenanigans and it just squats and goes is awesome with AWD.
You're pissed off because something happened to something you love, I definitely get it. Ditching it because #citylife won't make you happier, it will make you even more pissed off about living in the city "taking something else from you."

I dunno man. This kind of stuff is going to continue to happen until I can park my vehicles somewhere that keeps grubby hands and bad drivers away from them. Until then I'm just signing up for my shit to get destroyed by careless or malicious idiots. May as well let them destroy $10k of value and not $35k of value.

Not counting a car as an asset with value other than emotional value has done me very well. You can actually enjoy it.
If you're enough then you can ignore resale value and just drive the fuck out of stuff. $5k a year on the car? when you make $150k! away...

But that's not reality. Reality is you're going to sell the car at some point, and reality with this car is I never intended it to be a lifelong purchase.
Also, if you invest everything emotionally it just makes it that much harder to deal with someone destroying your stuff, which is exponentially more likely to occur in my situation than in yours. So the trick for me is to find something cheap and not be emotionally attached to it.

Anytime more than absolute basic transportation for your needs, which probably caps at like 5 for any of us, is spending on a hobby. If you get money out of it at the end, that's a win. Most hobbies have zero return.
I count on resale to keep costs down, most people involved in car shit do... Labor is worthless, but the cars are not.

In that case I cannot afford to "play" with cars at all, $10k+ per year completely blown is unacceptable. With non-zero resale value, however, the real cost can be significantly less than that when making smart purchase/modzzz decisions.
