I have documentation of both purchase and install. Somewhat remarkably, I still own the Tahoe almost ten years and 93,000 miles later and the shocks are failing. As I read it the 4600s have a limited lifetime warranty for the original purchaser as long as the shocks are still on the same truck.

Thoughts on warranty replacement?"

Hope you get some shocks. Bilsteins are the best but every shock will just eventually wear out.

Yeah I am not going to :sass: about it obviously ten years is a fine lifetime for dampers. Just posting for content.

Interesting indeed, looking forward to what they say. Tire Rack is pretty legit with customer service, my bet is that they actually replace them.

No response so started a chat and I now have this email:

Good morning,

Thank you for reaching out to Tire Rack. Here is my contact information, please reply to this email with a copy of your original invoice, and photographs of the shocks, especially the part number if they can be seen.

I’ll get that information over to our hardware support team, and they will review the information and reach out to you about that warranty.

Thank you,

Adam | Customer Care Specialist

I have installed 4 new shocks and the old ones are being sent to Tire Rack today. These things were not SHOT shot, but the new ones are night and day, so if TR doesn't refund my money, I will not be pleased.
In any event, I think they are just checking them to make sure there are no bullet holes in them, etc. There's your update. If I make another similar warranty claim in 11 years, I will be on Medicare.

I am glad you like it! I really liked that car... final year... the proper color combo and almost the perfect spec (HIDs+ backup cam) would have made it perfect...

Those MTECS you bought will go in @ 100K when I have the transmission fluid changed. . It will require a bumper drop and a day at my ex brother in laws shop in San Diego, he's the only one I would trust to navigate both of those tasks.

I finally spent $100 on a battery tester. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ANF1D7U?ps ... ct_details. The 2003 Tahoe is a battery eater. (Yes I've had it checked for drains) 2.5 years tops. I bought a crazy expensive Interstate AGM battery with a four year warranty in 2018.https://www.interstatebatteries.com/pro ... ..replaced it for free in July 2020.......was only making 347 CCA as of last week. So I started the process all over again.......$384 saved on Brosteins, $304 OTD for a new battery.

This exciting Pewter Metallic 20 year old GMT800 Maintenance update was brought to you free of charge by my sponsors.

There was this article somewhere where a little old lady used to do maintenance at midas... and she kept buying "lifetime" warranties for her old chariot with 500k miles... and she went through something like 5 exhaust pipes and a few other things...

Something like FCP euro + anti :plac: can be EPIC for saving money.

My dad was big on Midas back in the day. But that was before they started making exhausts out of stainless.

So I've been a Michelin fanboi on here, but I changed the oil in the 440i on Sunday and did the usual once over whilst waiting for the oil to drain. The PS4S' on the rear on pretty much down to the wear bars after 18K miles..........with very little aggressive driving in that time period. My wife drives it like its a Buick. That's pretty shitty plus TR now wants almost $300/tire for PS4S. Going to try something else this time....
maybe https://www.tirerack.com/tires/continen ... tact-sport. Dunno. Going to try and eke 20K out of these f!@%$ckers, then the Brosteins and new tires go on. Staggered tires are an expensive indulgence in style. Just figure out how to put big ass tires on the front as well so you can rotate those things.

Yes, I should buy new sweet square ramz. I'll look into it but probably not gonna happen.

I had these on the mini... about 15k miles and they had about 60% left. But we're talking the engine the lord himself entrusted to the Aryans (I6) vs my baby dick mini. So it may continue to wear quick...

My m3 would burn through a set of tires every 15-20k miles which was "WAY TOO LONG" according to forum bros who changed their $500 a pop rear tires every 5-10k miles. The tire costs on some vehicles are abysmally expensive sometimes rivaling FUEL COSTS. Which people don't really think about.

ECS is indistinguishable in performance from PS4S but does wear a little more quickly. Nowhere near quickly enough to make up for the price difference :doe:

You might want to look at alignment, the rears shouldn't be wearing out more quickly than the fronts if you aren't spinning them under power.
