Mostly, yes... The LS/LT motors are pretty simple and bullet-proof, but this is my first wet-sump LT1 and it is the only one I have heard having issues.
Dang.

I mean, M3 sedan would be sweet, but you better hurry up because production ends next month.

Well it depends on what you want, considering the rest of your cars the camaro is just boring. So it has to go.
The problem with the 570 or 911 becomes that it makes the zr1 obsolete. But maybe that’s not a bad thing either ?

I do think you should venture out of the gm sphere and try out some other vehicles. There also some really fun Audi products, and mb products.
E63s is a fking monster and probably the best DD one can wish for.
Audi RS5 is a good option also... still DD worthy but a lot of fun...

Dare I say an M3? It is worlds different from the 235 you had...

Just got to narrow down on how you want to use the vehicle
Agreed. Thinking about the RS5 and BMWs still.... but the 1LE beats the shit out of the M4 in performance.
Does it though? It weighs more has less power, and it doesn't have a DCT.

You seem to have a good relationship with your Chebby dealer, doe?

Why not give them a fair shot at taking care of the issue?
Well, others report oil burning, so I am speculating that GM isn't going to do much about this, and my one talk with my service guy kinda confirmed that without saying as much....

I don't want a car I have to feed oil every week or two between changes, which is why I am not sold on the BMWs either, my m235i ate oil in it's early life.
I would get rid of it. All of that "it's normal" stuff is f!@$!ing bs, for any car, I don't care what it is. Don't some of the M engines burn oil like crazy "because they are designed that way." Your own history with high performance engines tells you what giant bullshit that is. Did your handbuilt LS3 burn a bunch of oil? Nope. How about your LT4? Also nope. My 125K mile 5.3 liter Tahoe motor burns about a quart every 5000 miles. Almost NONE if those are highway miles.

If I was a waxer, I would unload by Camaro and Z06, put a GT3 in the "precious" parking place, give the wife the JL, and DD an RS3.

:flaccid:

That sucks.

You followed the official break in procedure? More a rhetorical question since you're :waxer: but I see there is one...
My 335i burned no oil on the factory recommended 10-15k mile change interval. The M3 currently shows as all the way full and it has about 5k miles on the oil too.

If I can't easily listen to my music I will be pissed.

I think that the MMSE EntryNav system in the 2 series was the worst part of the car and made it simple to offload it.

I told my wife this weekend that when we retire and I setup my workshop it will include a mounting machine and road force balancer. Screw having to ever have a monkey do that again.

Worst part is, how many times they get it wrong and you have to go back only to have them fuck up the balance again :rage:

And some wheels/tires are quite fragile.

Anyways, back to your quest. You need to figure out what you want in the vehicle, whether it is all out performance or DD-ness it skews the purchase toward one or another vehicle.

If you drove the GT3 as sparingly as your Z06, it would barely depreciate. The Jeep won't depreciate much if your wife DD's it to Fresno every day. Only the Audi would. 1/3 is not bad.

Yeah, ideally I want to give the wife the JLU, get rid of the JKU, get rid of the 1LE and get something else as a perf-DD.

M235i - 2014/first year production uses LESS than a liter in 12-15000km oil change cycle. Its clean as FK and i have pics lol :)
M2 2017 -16000km, I ADDED zero oil on this first cycle. Uses oil nil
Nothing in the press or my dealer says the ////MMMMMMMMMMM motors are sucking oil like Saudi Princes in a desert. Nothing. Im all for hearing about it.

I like the plan. GT3 sell Chebb's and keep Jeep. Why not. Either that or say a Maserati Coupe?? Just saying those are different or a top lock model Giulia Alfa sedan.
GTR?
There is quite a bit to chooze out there still with Waxers financial envelope in mind. M4 or Camaro in terms of performance. Both are large GT cars and you cant really compare their performance unless on track at the Ring etc. They both do straight line/open road long sweeping curves nicely. Win win for either. Its all on what you want overall, really.

A couple of things Dave:

1. I'm talking about pre N55 M engines. Anything with an S in front of it. E39 S62. E46 S54. E90 S65.
2. Your BMW's are perfect because they are built by Aryans FOR Aryans. Even your unicorn German oil
retards all wear and keeps your valvetrain AS NEW even at 15,000 km changes. We've seen the pictures.
We know you are better than we are. Our lot in life is to be Vanos blowing, bearing spinning, 5W-60 quart every 1000 mile consuming mother f!$!@#$ers.
