Well, others report oil burning, so I am speculating that GM isn't going to do much about this, and my one talk with my service guy kinda confirmed that without saying as much....
I don't want a car I have to feed oil every week or two between changes, which is why I am not sold on the BMWs either, my m235i ate oil in it's early life.
I would get rid of it. All of that "it's normal" stuff is f!@$!ing bs, for any car, I don't care what it is. Don't some of the M engines burn oil like crazy "because they are designed that way." Your own history with high performance engines tells you what giant bullshit that is. Did your handbuilt LS3 burn a bunch of oil? Nope. How about your LT4? Also nope. My 125K mile 5.3 liter Tahoe motor burns about a quart every 5000 miles. Almost NONE if those are highway miles.
If I was a waxer, I would unload by Camaro and Z06, put a GT3 in the "precious" parking place, give the wife the JL, and DD an RS3.
M235i - 2014/first year production uses LESS than a liter in 12-15000km oil change cycle. Its clean as FK and i have pics lol
M2 2017 -16000km, I ADDED zero oil on this first cycle. Uses oil nil
Nothing in the press or my dealer says the ////MMMMMMMMMMM motors are sucking oil like Saudi Princes in a desert. Nothing. Im all for hearing about it.
I like the plan. GT3 sell Chebb's and keep Jeep. Why not. Either that or say a Maserati Coupe?? Just saying those are different or a top lock model Giulia Alfa sedan.
GTR?
There is quite a bit to chooze out there still with Waxers financial envelope in mind. M4 or Camaro in terms of performance. Both are large GT cars and you cant really compare their performance unless on track at the Ring etc. They both do straight line/open road long sweeping curves nicely. Win win for either. Its all on what you want overall, really.
