They look primarily useful for filling huge pots like you'd use in home brewing. Which is the ultimate definition of usefulness.

So in order to buy a somewhere good, we first need to buy a DeLorean?wap wrote:Maybe double in today's dollars? really.
But the monthly mortgage remained constant over the years while our pay went up. Actually, it decreased with our 2 refi's over the years.

The cost of anything I'd want is too high and going up at a rate that will keep it out of reach forever.

Long term that never changes bro. Look up the 100 yr pricing chart on just about anything except the dollar.troyguitar wrote: ↑Thu Oct 11, 2018 9:48 pmSadly, even those things have appreciated out of reach...wap wrote:

will be interesting for sure. NY has fukt itself. We have our own surge of values. There are also articles pointing out the the NYC property game has climaxed as prices start to creep down from insane levels. thts a good indicator that it hit max and the bubble pop may be near.
I'll just sit here with and fly my drone around the airboat roller coaster. And pricing sailboats to escape on.
I mean I haven't bought because I think Philly prices are retarded. Just ride it out in my postage stamp bathroom home. Which has apparently appreciated another $50-80k this year.

Look at this pile of shit house. $300k. Insanity. This is down the street from me. We walked through it and the whole fucking place was gag worthy. 2 bedroom, 1 bath off the kitchen, kitchen is a fucking hallway, back "yard" is literally 4' x 4'. If that's "$300k", ours is worth considerably more.

Also, in4pics of pot filler, my poor ass doesn't even know what that is.
@troy, people like us just have to live in cheap ass housing if we want to do stuff. I live in a no garage town home in the far out burbs... Not really my cup of tea but it gives me financial freedom of sorts.

No, I have applied
But we sell those products. This new company is an AV/IT manufacturer and distributor.
My wife and I started demo on our first floor/communal bathroom this weekend. Took out the toilet, vanity, and all the crappy old tiles. All that's left for demo is to take out the old shower, but we'll need to get into the drywall to remove it fully. It's like mounted to the studs with the drywall over the lip for a flush finish.
Definitely looking forward to the end result. We're planning on keeping the vanity but updating the counter on it to marble/granite and mounting a vessel sink to it rather than drop in. It's going to look much better,
The only thing I'm worried about doing ourselves is the shower since we want to do a walk-in. That means we'll need to slope the floor toward the drain for proper flow (not that anyone really uses that shower).
Regardless, I'll be sure to post before/after pics here once we finish, like I did for our DIY deck upgrade.

You can buy a pre-made shower pan (floor) that's molded to slope toward the drain if you're making a standard sized shower.Jaxper wrote: ↑Tue Nov 06, 2018 3:52 pm My wife and I started demo on our first floor/communal bathroom this weekend. Even for a walk-in? I'd likely have to raise the flooring around it if we want everything tiled, no?wap wrote: ↑Tue Nov 06, 2018 4:45 pmYou can buy a pre-made shower pan (floor) that's molded to slope toward the drain if you're making a standard sized shower.Jaxper wrote: ↑Tue Nov 06, 2018 3:52 pm My wife and I started demo on our first floor/communal bathroom this weekend. EDIT: Ignore this. I was thinking of something else when you said shower pan and my comment no longer makes sense.
The panda hath arrived.
Ceiling has been de-popcorned and painted.
New tile has been laid and grouted - just waiting on it to dry a bit so we can clean it up.
Vanity has been painted - just need to get the new nickel handles from the store.
Countertop is being fabricated.
Sink, faucet, and toilet are all being shipped.
Shiplap will be going up on the accent wall once we clean up the excess grout.
Looks like we'll finally have a first floor bathroom again soon! Shower will be the next big thing to tackle. A friend of mine just did a walk-in shower recently too so I'll be picking his brain after we have everything else done.

I've been following your snaps. Nice work. Post some pics here when it's done.
