Looks like 2017 is the year of hauswerk. We haven't done anything since getting the place, crunch time baby! Alright, on the list:
- Dem floors doe. New hardwood floors in our downstairs. We ripped up the carpet the first week we were here and discovered water damage near windows, really sloppy paintwork (i.e. not using dropcloths), and worst of all hundreds of ring shank nails driven into the floor for no apparent reason. Floors are probably coming in the next few weeks, already ordered all that shit.
- dat lawn doe. We've got about 8 feet of mud on our side yard with no drainage possible. Just got a rain barrel!
- dat lawn doe. We're building a pathway through the mudpit and planting hastas on each side
- dat fence doe. Currently our back fence is essentially mounted to the back of our deck. Behind that, there's another mudpit where I've parked the shitmobile. We're going to reclaim that and move the fence back to the end of the property line. Going to retain dat car space by pulling in next to the deck.
- dat hot tub doe. As part of moving the fence back, I am going to cast a cement slab (about 4" thick I think) in the back of the deck to put our hot tub on.
- dat electricity doe. Gotta put a 240 out back for the hot tub, and a 120 for other miscellaneous wonders. Gonna be $$$, but might as well upgrade to 200 amp service too. mode
- dat entertainment doe. Setting up my spare projector with a screen outside for summer movies. My neighbors love porn and football so this should work out well
I think that's it...might as well chronicle this shit. Hoping to knock the majority of this out by May...ambitious but I don't see why we can't totally do it.

Alright gonna be doing some more updates and pics this weekend, but at the moment, we've finished our walkway and have moved on to our back patio area. I got an awesome deal on a roto tiller last weekend so I'm just gonna tear shit up and till the whole back yard area.
Had a wrench thrown in the works last weekend, the explorer had a wheel bearing seize up and I had to take care of that instead of working on the yard a couple hours. However, the car-in-backyard functionality has been confirmed.

Getting there. Replaced last part of the fence and made the hot tub pad. We are going to take up the outside pavers.amd make it more of a path than just a patio. I'm also going to bury about 60ft of pvc pipe tomorrow for drainage which has been am ongoing problem. Lots of work this weekend.
