What does that mean
Gberg's GoRf Thread
NP put the car on the alignment rack and said I definitely need one as part of DAP recalibration. I never got an alignment sheet after the accident so I don't know what the alignment specs were.
I'm also pretty sure I never hit any nasty potholes since I got it back.

Oh wait the wheel itself is out of whack, not some suspension part?Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2017 7:41 pmNP put the car on the alignment rack and said I definitely need one as part of DAP recalibration. Maybe call insurance and see what they say? That it can't be aligned and calibrated since the wheel is out and it's the same wheel that was hit by the derp?
This is one extremely complicated car...

Bruh. If you are having this bad of luck with the car, maybe you're getting lucky somewhere else
Time to hit the casino?

I know I'd be having a hard time wrapping my head around all this... IDK what I'd do because it's a damn nice car in person doe, a hell of a lot nicer than my STI. Just complicated af.

I am willing to bet that "alignment" procedure is nothing more than a money grab.
1. Set car on machine and align to spec
2. Hit Reset button for electronic gizmos.
3. Charge customer $600 and claim it took 10 hrs.

The actual wheel itself is okay as a brand new one was put on after the accident. NP is telling me the suspension alignment is out of whack. The suspension that was replaced in the accident. Could I have really messed it up in the 1900 miles I've driven since the repairs? I don't remember hitting anything significant.
Here's the alignment sheet they gave me when I picked it up last week. I'm trying to use the google machine now to find the factory specs for an R with DCC and 19" wheels.

Casino is less than 2 miles from work! But no. I have luck when it comes to gambling too.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2017 8:07 pm

They told me the forward facing camera and lane departure warning use the rear wheels for whatever it is they do. After they align it they put some board up in front of the car to measure and adjust the active cruise and ldw. He said they can't cheat it with vag-com.
No idea. But it's something I'll keep an eye on. I'm due for my first oil change in about 1000 miles and my dillership does a complimentary alignment check. I'll remember to ask for it.Tarspin wrote:What was the cause of the alignment going out, settlement?

It has camber adjustment in the back. A lot of cars do not.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2017 8:28 amNo idea. But it's something I'll keep an eye on. I need an alignment on my car. Just to make sure its set right as a baseline. Maybe add some camber bolts to get it to about -1 deg all around.
So the GoRf has just rolled over 5,000 miles which means I should probably get an oil change and since it's now october tarz should be a thought.
Right now until 10/22 Costco has Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ on sale for $148 each with the instant $70 off. The DSW 06 from tirerack are $138. I gotta assume the $10 difference is worth the price for the Michelins plus the cheaper mounting/balancing fees at costco. I still need to buy all the jack pad/stand stuff but I guess for now I'll just jack the car and do one wheel at a time and worry about stands in the spring.
I also need 4 new hub rings and they're only $6 from tirerack but shipping is $10. I gotta call them about that. Also gonna be picking up new zinc coated lugbolts as the ones that came with my ramz are pretty corroded.

Yeah the price seems solid. They're $677 shipped from tire rack and then you have to factor in an additional $100 for mount and balance.
The DWS is probably a bit better in the snow but I'll take the better dry performance. I usually don't have to drive in the snow all that much anyway.
