Meh -
I do think Vettel re-entered the track and shot directly to the outside on purpose to block Hamilton
I don’t think he should’ve been penalized for it.

I was telling that it is my opinion that if he indeed do that calculation and execute it in the split second after correcting his error - while still on the grass- he deserved the block.4zilch wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 12:47 pmBig Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 10:59 am well the FIA ruined the race result and spoiled a brilliant drive IMHO

Given the RT of a typical F1 driver, I’d say it was intentional. The footage didn’t appear to show him making any effort to stay to the inside, and I think most racers would have done the same thing if they were leading a race.Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 12:55 pmI was telling that it is my opinion that if he indeed do that calculation and execute it in the split second after correcting his error - while still on the grass- he deserved the block.
Conversely, if Hamilton would’ve chosen to plow into him rather than taking evasive action, I would’ve been low with that as well.
The move wasn’t dumb; the penalty was.

if you look at the incar replay Seb has quite alot of left lock on while on the grass, and keeps it on as he reenters the track. at this point the front tires bite while the rear will not b/c they still on grass.... this makes sense. as a result seb has to catch the car and apply opposite lock, this is instinct for a racer. And yes, he knew this was going to happen.....but he also could have went straight till all 4 were on pavement and not even paid lip service to trying to give LH44 some room.
Anyway, BS penalty was BS
