We take floors more seriously than our fizzy sugar drink selections it seems.[user not found] wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2017 9:23 amIn Louisiana wouldn't that be "Coke"?Melon wrote:I learned yesterday the stain color is called "Cola" .

I'd be more interested in an IPA or Porter satin myself.

Floors done.
As you can see they refloated the seam in the bedroom, so I've got to paint over that.
Last big item is the counter tops.
I've got a lot of smaller items to knock off the list, but the move-in date is March 24th. Don't see any issue hitting that date as of yet.

Not bad... Price is right if they are good quality.
I blew a lot of money on Hunter Douglas wood blinds and I can't say I'm really satisfied. Over a few years some of the slats have warped a bit and it bugs me.

I have receipts for every purchase over $40 we have made that has gone into the house, so I should look into that.

We started the day we got the keys to the house and kept the files going. Many items are deductible from any capital gains when you sell the house. Even though there is a $500k exemption for married couples when they sell, we have already seen ourselves out perform that number before the market crashed and by the time we sell we will likely make more than that over our initial investment.

I only kept that shit for the rent house, now that I'm outta that game...
Also, new house is new, so costs are minimal.

Trimmed around the hallway tub surround.
Got it caulked up, and ready for paint.
Started on closet shelving, got about 1/2 way finished with that.
Bought some cabinets for the laundry nook.
Hopefully I can get all this stuff put in, and painted by the end of this weekend.

Lowe's fucked up my counter top order.
The place making the counter tops came and measured up late January, I added a few things, and they sent an updated invoice to Lowes' for me to go pay.
Lowe's sat on it for two fucking weeks because their printer was down, ignoring the fact they're in the same complex as an office depot. Fine, whatever, I got time, I pay the extra invoice and move on. I called the company actually making the countertops for a status update, they never heard back from Lowe's regarding me paying the additional amount.
They fucking sat on my invoice for a month and didn't do shit with it.
Fuck Lowe's
Home Depot for life.
