Congrats! I like the new color a lot more than just black. I passed one on the highway today, driven by a young asian mom ironically. The looks are growing on me. It seemed tiny passing it in the NOT-A- :truk:

I like there are funky options on new BMWs. You can get the weird i8 style blue trim. You can get weird 2-tone wool blends that are asymmetrical on the seats with bronze trim everywhere.
Yea it’s not that big of a car… but it also is. It’s about midsize suv sized. The amount of space inside though is just epic.

The options can be funky (shag rug interior, whacky wheels, crystal controls) but I think bmw is removing the weird shag rug interior. I have seen none with it and I have looked at 100s when looking. They were quite common in 22s and 23s. I think bmw is trying to “normalize them” a bit to be more appealing to the average person and not some Persian art dealer from Dubai.

You getting an M3 to pair with it?
:notsure: yet I’m not fully sold on an m car vs my truk. I drove it yesterday and it’s a lot of fun in its own way.
Nothing wrong with the current setup 👍

A dealer that gave me a quote that was 30-40% higher had a lot of them pre-totaled aka tinted... I'll be going today to drop off a charger for the I4 that I traded and ask mine.

Well the back is already tinted... so :iono: our sun here is BRUTAL. But right now in the winter I prefer a bowl. When I was driving to work in the summer I literally had the sun on the side of my face for 40 min... it was fucking :disgust:

For aesthetics on most cars i prefer 35-40%ish. In the west no tint is just not gonna work. I know that most glass has some built in UV protection but when I see fishbowl I think damaged interior pieces.

Nope I do too. The clearest ceramic tint as possible for me personally.

:dat:
I am really happy that I was forced to remove the :tints: off my car when I got pulled over a few months ago. I hated driving at night with such low visibility out the side windows. I'll probably remove the tint off the rear windows too.
:wap: Where are these mangos?

My consumption got a bit better... I think my overall average on the First and second IX was about 2.9 miles/kw and the new one was getting around 2.5-2.6 which was abysmal IMO. However it seems like it got better and is now around 2.7-2.8 which is still not great but not terrible.... For those not in EV speak this essentially means the range was 30-40 miles LESS on the new car as prior... mainly due to the summer tires. Fking crazy how much of a difference they make on a 5600lb behemoth.

Oh you are doing it great. :plac: could learn from you. I'm just serial impressed you 1. got them to buy your shit back. 2. convinced the woman that getting another is smart and 3. pulled of a dealer selling you another bmw. I just assumed there would be a list of some sort and you guys would be on it.

The dealer that IMO totaled the IX is the one that sold us the other one. Believe it or not... I was actually keen on keeping the I4, but the woman kept bitching about it being too small for kid shit. And here we are... (summarized the last few pages for ya)

Alright... This has been exactly 1 month and 800 miles since I got the current IX (2nd one) for those who are following: This is my 3rd BMW EV. And the 4th BMW EV I spent a lot of time in. IMO BMW makes the best EVs. Come at me bro.

Here is my verdict.
Positives:
1. I really like the way this car drives. It is probably the best riding/handling SUV that's out there. Only the Macan came close.
2. Car is averaging about 2.7miles per KW. Which is decent
3. I have had 0 quality issues on this car. Unlike some paint issues caused by the PDI of the prior dealer
4. This car had 0 issues from any other part of the vehicle.
5. The stereo is excellent
6. The tech is excellent. I am no longer using a key, the car is very good at estimating range, the tech is adaptive and intuitive. I.E it remembers which days I go where and suggests them in the nav... I could write a lot more here. But don't want to bore anyone.
7. I actually think it's one of the best looking EVs and a pretty good looking SUV. Yea, beauty is in the eye of the beholder but it really grew on me over time and I now really don't mind it at all. It is a very unique vehicle in the current config and doesn't get lost in a parking lot etc.
8. Given the size of the battery and the range, I only charge about once a week at home. I haven't set a foot in a gas station in 3 months. :yikes: A huge convenience.

Negatives:
1. The suspension is a bit too firm IMO.
2. The summer tires are about 5% less efficient than the no seasons
3. The black interior color wasn't my first choice and is a bit plain looking
4. I do wish the trunk was a bit bigger and it had a frunk. I hate having smelly ass take out in the car. That's :disgust: and it smells up the interior.
5. Parts costs are completely insane in typical bmw fashion... I looked up a windshield replacement cost... $4000!!!! :wtf: It's multiples of what it should be..

Overall I am actually finally HAPPY with the current garage. The taco is the "fun" weekend car that is also utilitarian, I have no need for a 3rd car as this thing is both a commuter and a family car at once.

Do you have the bowers stereo?

I noticed the suggestions with the nav too but wasn’t sure where it was getting them from. Does it pull it from CarPlay ?

I don't have the 33 speaker bowers. I have the mid level "poverty " H&K with 18 speakers with 655 watts.

It uses your internal GPS for the suggestions.
