nice. I've worked up to getting 10 pretty honest reps on the bench at 225, while still getting the other 15 at 185. Also depends on rest, earlier this week with 4 days of rest i got 20/25 @ 225.

I cut out from work early yesterday to hit the gym and had a good session.

I hadn't hit chest in weeks before today. Such weakness.

:notbad: 225X10 is solid.

It does vary though, amount of rest, food eaten day of/day before, time of day... sometimes, I'm just off, for whatever reason.

Standing calve raise machine is definitely lighter than the one at my old gym, so I'll need to go up in weight on that. Everything else was pretty standards. Barbell curls, hammer curls, the standing calve raises, then I had to do seated hamstring curls instead of GHR since this gym doesn't have one.. that was a bummer to learn, finished with leg press. Hit 8 plates plus a 10 on each side. I'll do 8 plates and a 25 on each side next time, and film it like I said I was going to this week. Being at the new gym last night had me feeling extra conscious of loading that much weight up if I'm not hitting full reps.

:whalecum: to my world, learning a new gym every week.
That would drive me crazy. Sucks cause even if you have a 24-hour fitness membership, they don't always have the same machines at the different locations. I think I would be hitting all free weights if I was in your shoes.

I'm not minding it at all for my 531 BBB. It's still so much better than before with only Planet SHitness access on the road. The big lifts and 5X10 assistance sets are the meat of the program, :aintcare: if the assistance work varies slightly, it keeps things entertaining to mix it up a bit.

I OHP'd 135 X1 on Friday, the first time in my life I have ever pressed plates. That's about 14 months of 5/3/1.
DL concluded at 280 X2, I think I started at 135.

Decent.

Nice man!

Still getting used to the machines at the new gym. Smith machine feels weirdly heavy. At the old gym I had 175lbs (bar included @ 45lbs) on the smith and was hitting seated shoulder press for 17 reps with two rest pause sets in there. Last week at the new gym I hit a total of 8 reps with 135lbs (bar included).. Unreal. Similar with incline press.. was up at 245 at the old gym, stuggled with 185 last night at new gym.

Deadlifts are feeling good though. Hit 275 for 8 reps last night. I'll try to remember to film the leg press set tomorrow night.. should be hitting around 770lbs or so..

Goddamn injuries. My left knee has been bugging the last few days. It makes a slight popping noise when going down stairs and sometime locks out when walking. Needless to say, I skipped my DL workout this morning.

Maybe I'll be healthy again by New Years! /s

i thought the whole point of the smith machine was to nearly eliminate the weight of the bar.

Some of them are definitely weighted to where they do that, but the actual point of them is to make it so you don't have to stabilize the bar yourself and force it to travel along a set plane in order to overload specific muscles and minimize the use of other smaller muscle groups that may fatigue faster and limit how much weight you can move.

uhhhh, not really. I just try to do 5x5 untill i can do all 25. If i cant get them all at the hight weight i finish out my 25 at some lower weight. Once i hit all 25, i add some weight. :iono:

Nice dude. At first I though you meant 20 in a row and I was gonna sign you up for the NFL Combine. Sounds like you’re making good use of progressive overload. Keep it up.

Ahhh, like :sawce: said I thought you hit 20 in one set. That would be some :impressive: movement.

I'm excited about lifting tonight. BB curl, hammer curl, calves, seated hamstring curls (new gym doesn't have a GHR :( ) then some heavy ass leg press.

thanks. I try to keep my heart rate up so i dont have super long rests. I also have started doing dumbbell rows inbetween the bench sets to this end.
In fact for nearly all my moves I try to do opposing muscle groups in alternating fashion so my rest periods are short...to keep up the olde HR

Antagonist supersets like that are great. Especially if you're pulling along the same plane that you're pressing.. will help keep you from developing muscular imbalances and having and over developed chest and under developed back which leads to poor posture from the chest pulling harder than the back does on the shoulders.

Failed hard on 770lb leg press. One decent rep, one 3/4 rep. That was a heavy ass jump from 740. I’ll go down to 745 next time. Got a video.. I'll send it to someone to post if anyone feels like uploading it for me since I can't post videos from tapatalk..

Figured out these gosh darn video tubes :wap:

You'll see 7 plates on that lower rack, and then on the far side of the press you can see the 8th plate for each side loaded on the upper rack.. can't see the 25lb plate outside of that.

16 45lb plates and two 25lb plates.

There is a rack that points up straight in the middle of the machine, so next time I'll do my 16 plates, plus just a single 25 up on there for 745lbs.

Got the equivalent of the lunk alarm sounded on me today for doing C&J's. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to set down 225 from directly overhead as if it's a 5 pound dumbbell. Time to find a new gym. Ugh.
