I was on the fence trying to decide whether to get something cheaper and also whether to get a sub, for now I figure I'll stick with the 305's and no sub as a compromise. At $179 brand new for a pair on closeout, it's hard to go wrong. Supposedly these are flat to 43 Hz and the reasonably priced 8" ones only go to like 37 Hz, so hopefully I won't feel like I'm missing much on the low end.

My goal eventually is to have a decent-sized room that is set up with a good system for both recording and rehearsing with a band at reasonable volumes, complete with electric drum kit and using the studio monitors as a PA of sorts with everything run through them - no "real" amps at all. The JBL's with an added sub might be plenty for that, depending on the size of the room.

If y'all do wind up moving to Charlotte, I'd be totally down to jam, can play guitar, bass, vox, low brass. I'm a little rusty as I don't play much these days, but I'd enjoy getting back into it and used to be a decent player.

I needed another flash and figured I would get the good one vs the SB-500 I have. I can use them in a paired config when I don't need real strobes, and they are easy to setup. Ball head, Tripod and lens.... $$$$ blown.

At least it is earning me points towards my next Corvette or Silverado, or other GM vehicle.
