If I was in the market, I'd buy something like one of these (minus the trailer) 5 out of 7 times over a tiny house.Melon wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2017 7:48 am4zilch wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2017 6:45 am

Still limited miles on 'em, but here's a quick take vs. the SportComp-2's I had prior to this.
Both sets are/were 205/50/16 @ 42psi
Overall grip is slightly higher
Forward grip (acceleration grip) slightly better
Lateral grip slightly better
Steering response slightly slower
Feedback isn't as good as the SC-2 but to be fair I haven't spent much time at the grip limit on the Firebones yet. The SC-2's gave better feedback at a "normal" spirited pace.
Ride quality is about the same
Firebones are quieter
Wet grip TBD (The SC-2's were excellent in the wet)
A more thorough review after the Fap and/or if I get more seat time this weekend.

PRETTY MUCH EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED TO HEAR, AND EXPECTED. Sport Comp 2s are on e30 and gti. I have lots of experience. They are great for what they are. I want a more aggressive yet balanced tar on fiat.4zilch wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2017 1:55 pmStill limited miles on 'em, but here's a quick take vs. the SportComp-2's I had prior to this.

They're very comparable, though I'm a bit with the lack of feedback. I'm interested to see how they act when the pace quickens.dubshow wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2017 2:06 pmPRETTY MUCH EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED TO HEAR, AND EXPECTED. Sport Comp 2s are on e30 and gti. that is not 100% true, once you go over a certain GVW (35k lbs I think) you need a certin class CDL no matter what.troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2017 2:28 pm4zilch wrote:
No CDL required if it's classified as a recreational vehicle and when you consider the 's rolling around in 40-50' RV's
You can drive a 50' bus with another 50' trailer behind it at age 16 with no extra license.
Those big bus things are mostly air, so they are not 'that' heavy.

Over 26k lbs require CDL. Though some places (Florida) exempt RV's from CDL requirements regardless of weight. Indiana is 45k lbs I think..Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2017 2:46 pmthat is not 100% true, once you go over a certain GVW (35k lbs I think) you need a certin class CDL no matter what.troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2017 2:28 pm

I know a few people who push near that weight limit, but are under. Really nice way to spend a weekend at the track doe.4zilch wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2017 3:24 pmOver 26k lbs require CDL. At least it's nice when they are there so I could hang out in their AC and drink their beer when track went cold.

Wet grip not as precise as SC2.
Firebones are moar prone to hydroplane (not surprising given tread pattern
Overall I'm not sure if I'd buy these again over SC2's from a performance standpoint. Opinion may change with more seat time.

good to hear. I expected the same seeing the tread. Bad news, they are all back ordered in my size.
might end up with the SC2 on abarth, on factory wheels.
none of my god damn 15" wheels will fit correctly.
