They're not all that fast at HPDE days from what I've seen, but mostly due to driver I'm sure. They are certainly highly capable.

And I'm not the greatest driver but, the general consensus was the E90 or the M2 Comp were better choices.
Still, and F80 M3 manual sedan would be a dope ass DD.

I haven't seen any of those but, I can say the E36 is a great driving car.
Now, finding one that isn't a show piece or clapped the fuck out... that's another issue entirely.

E90 with the S65 is just glorious.

Yeah I still really like that platform, great size, good motors, nice looking. I'd totes M3/4.

When i did the thing with the /M cars at COTA, they were awesome.

Personal opinion is that the F80 M3 was the last "highly differentiated" M3.
I6 Carboner roof
Dual turbos
Carboner driveshaft
Li-Ion Battery
Wide bodywork/fender
Comp seats
Massive power, all over the power band. there was 0 turbo lag also. (F30 didn't lag either to be honest)
3550 lbs.. or 200lbs lighter than a comparable F30 sedan. It's a lot lighter than the current M2 even.

I had both the F30 and F80 and IMO they are different chassis codes for a reason. The Fake sport felt like a camry... the M3 felt well like an M3. Where m3 starts to fall apart is servicing costs at the dealer and parts.
$1500 batteries... I was quoted $2500 for a 30k mile service which included plugs, filters. Which is insane... also the tires on the comp cost $2200 every 25k miles. The car basically cost 5k in maintenance every 30k miles... a bit less if you DIY but it is incredibly expensive to operate.

I would get a low mile manual M3 blue/white as a "forever" car if I had the garage space to car collect.

That cars history is weird af … first year owner put 1200 miles on it … then it sold to a guy servicing it at a Subaru dealer. Also convertible In PA?! So many questions

The Subaru dealer near me advertises free loaners for all service regardless of make and has good prices on oil changes

I just took the cucktrek for service the other day, and they had outback wilderness for loaners. Opportunity missed

For us is short haired triggered lesbos with political correct stickers covering the trunk lid. I I can curb hop when parallel park and devour potholes. Now if you'll excuse me, Im going to get my green carrot juice and my gluten free quinoa pizza.

Yeah I’d def take one. Even the F30 has an amazing chassis. Once it actually had grip in the front it rotated amazingly. The engine was meh and the rev hang sucked, the whole power train was just underwhelming, an M3 of course fixes that.

Well at this point in my life i'm thinking a convertible one could be my 'everything' car. The poor miata just doesn't get used much despite my love for the car. In a couple years when i can afford a f83 convertible I will re-evaluate the fleet and usage. Son will also be 8-9 so that will come into consideration.
