Exactly. :aintcare: just wish I felt more :fuckyeah: weird.
It's never super easy to make such a major life decision in a :rage: fit, without the ironclad safety net of a new job in hand, even if you were planning on doing it for a while now. You'll be 5/7 :fuckyeah: once you accept one of several job offers that are soon to be presenting themselves to you. :like:
Well, my plan all along was to quit Monday. The last few weeks were really calm/easy and I thought that maybe I could last another month.

A meeting was scheduled at 5:30pm on Monday, and it was regarding this project I think is impossible. In fact, the meeting was to review a deck I had been working with the chief engineer on to present to execs why this project was impossible.

My boss calls in and claimed to have no idea about the point of the meeting (wrong). When he heard it was that we were going to tell his bosses boss we believed the project was impossible, he went ballistic. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE IVE DONE THIS ALL THE TIME SUCCESSFULLY WE MAKE THIS HAPPEN OR WE'RE DONE then went on another 15 minutes about making the boss look good to new mgmt and more political shit...I actually hung up the phone. He called me and I told him we needed to talk in the morning and I hung up. Set a call for 8am and resigned.

He didn't care. Just told me to work with another dude on the team on transition and to make sure the impossible project got done.

Responsible people with accountability are never going to feel 100% :fuckyeah: about quitting. Your inability to fully embrace this explains why, in no particular order:

1. You have money
2. You have only been married once.
3. Why you are still married.
4. You're going to have a new job before you can go through a case of PBR and 50 gallons of boat gas.

Ok Rudy, why don't you define "rage quit" for us then. You know, for all us olds that don't understand the lingo and..... you know, only have decades of experience in the working world.

It wasn't a rage quit in the traditional sense, no. I actually stopped myself when he called me and I told him to chat in the morning because I wanted to not say things I may regret.

Yea, I didn't "rage quit", but you really shouldn't at the professional level anyway. This is as close as I could comfortably get to "rage quit" and I hope to never ever reach that point again.

I just wanted more clarification. I don’t think it’s appropriate to f bomb peace out in that professional of a setting, especially if you were higher up like you were.

I was just busting :rudy: balls a bit because he defined cuck for us too...

You rage quit within the framework of a successful, reasonable person... which the great majority of this board is ....

True rage quitting is for the plebs for the most part.... except for the most dire and egregious circumstances....

Oh man, back in the day I had a teller lose her fucking shit as she quit and walked out the door. In the branch lobby, tons of “fuck you, fuck this place, fuck the bank!” Spinning around with middle fingers in the air.

Last I saw she was a flight attendant for United.

Proud of you Chris, it is tough to make this move but you positioned yourself nicely man. Good luck with the next job, I'm sure you'll always be successful with that big brain of yours and determination. We lead two very different lives, but if I were in your shoes I'd have no qualms about the decision you made.

RE: Depression, I hope this change brings you the clarity you desire. Finding happiness is a very interesting conundrum, I think you can be happy or unhappy at every stage of your life, but it is a mindset. My wife went through years of depression, the worst was when she was on prescribed meds. Her best ally has been her motivation to work out, and a blood test that proves that her vitamin D levels are way too low. She fixed both with D drops daily, and a membership to "Beach Body" that I participate in and really enjoy.

I cheer for your success on the sidelines, whatever that's worth.

Yeah, there isn't much of anything that intrigues me from the Big 3 where $600 would cover payments and insurance. It helps, obviously, but what's the plan when the car is paid off? Or do they expect you to just lease for all of eternity?
Can you lease a mâché mustang for that?
No idea. I have zero interest in the Mach E.

The Mach 1 is a different story, but $600 wouldn't cover payments and insurance.
