I found golfs to be too overpriced. Nice examples hover around 10k which is for a car that was 14-16k new after discounts.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 10:59 amHere is a Golf.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 12:36 am Look at this nasty bitch.

I like this a lot.

Real Talk here guys.
For $6000 I can get a 5 cylinder Golf with over 100K on the clock, with what, a 20K MSRP? Utilitarian, basic Kraut transport.
For $9000 I can get Lexus GS 430 with an engine that will go to 300K miles with very little love, with 75K miles on the clocking pretty epic condition, owned and garaged by the landed gentry of Cincinatti that is truly a nice vehicle. 60K MSRP?
3 grand brohams. That's the difference between poverty and reliable luxury.
Yes the Golf is the more appropriate car. But at some point you're just paying a poverty tax. Lots of people can come up with 5Kish. But 9Kish? Buy here pay here. I'm not sure I'm willing to pay the tax.

Yeah but they are smaller and handle better, have a double wishbone rear suspension design, rwd, 300hp. I'd pay extra for that. Plus that gen is solid as a drum, and built with better interior materials then the new ones. I'd at least drive both for , plus the white one i posted for 10k asking looks more suited to a 16yr old then a silver GS.

The IS 350 series is a bit more than I want to pay.Tarspin wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 11:51 amYeah but they are smaller and handle better, have a double wishbone rear suspension design, rwd, 300hp. The Lexus will run forever, but so should the Hyundia.. plus with it being newer it looks (IMO) much better. I'd rather drive it than the Lexus personally. She doesn't need RWD..

These are awesome cars. I fully support this decision. WAY better option than the timebomb BMWs and benzos.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 12:46 pmThe IS 350 series is a bit more than I want to pay.Tarspin wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 11:51 am Yeah but they are smaller and handle better, have a double wishbone rear suspension design, rwd, 300hp. The Lexus is a compromise... I do think the IS series is a much cooler thing, but the GS has a V8 and is cheaper, so why not?
Maybe you could get an IS250 for cheaper? I love the first gen IS300 but finding an unmolested example could prove a challenge.

Nice car for $7500.

A compromise of first car friendly with something that probably isn't too terrible. Needs moar .Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 3:11 pm https://palmsprings.craigslist.org/cto/ ... 48820.html

Great choice. She'll (you'll?) be as cool as our 92 year old Chairman of the Board who drove one of these until his kids made him give up driving after one too many accidents.
And they're ugly as shit, imho.
