This dude charges 151 a day for his Wrangayler and has had 51 "rentals" even at 2 days per rental he more than paid for the depreciation.

I mean I wouldn't but hey whatever. I'd just rent a vehicle for that stuff and not worry about the headache of handing my vehicle over to Guadelupe to put it through the front window of a taco shop.

:manuel: will hook her up with juan so she can rent the jeep to haul her little niños around and take it to the border and bring some more illegals up to the pay area.

:member: the kid standing on the roof of the car? That'll happen in the jeep. Only they'll be standing on the hood and roll cage. And dropping ice cream on the back carpets and throwing cherrios.

My only problem with this plan is handing the keys over to a stranger. I like my vehicles too much, no matter what they cost.

If you can do it, then I call it a solid plan to get a potentially free vehicle.

JL's have 3k sitting on the hood.... at my :dillerman: :impressive:
JKs have 5k on the hood... It is an interesting strategy as any JKU is around 5k cheaper than a comparable JL that way.

Well, they aren't advertising them all that cheap and only the ones that have been sitting a bit.

However, my sales guy is a lot more responsive to me now than he was before when I first ordered the JLU. Pretty sure they are very happy to sell me the thing for $5,100 off MSRP now.

Nope. According to Jeep this morning it is still waiting for a train. Has been for 18 days. At 21 days they can escalate it and determine why it has not been loaded and shipped and can give me a final ETA. So, After Monday I should have a better answer.

It's not that unreasonable though.... A Corvette order is about this long at this point and there are a lot less of them being produced. My order was "accepted" on 02/09/2018 and actually built on 03/05

How do you go about ordering a car? Just refuse to accept any car that doesn't match your request 100%

What if they do find a match, can you still order?

Is that why you order one? I've only bought 3 new cars and just take what they got cause :aintcare:

You walk into a :dillerman: and tell him what you want, he clicks a couple of boxes in his internal system and voila you get any car you desire.

Always assumed there was more to it.

Some cars I guess it makes sense given the amount of options available

If you have the money and patience almost any car can be ordered exactly the way you want. However 9/10 times it costs more than a car on the lot and it takes 4 weeks to 6 months depending on where you order your car from.

:dat:

So far I've ordered 2 C7s, a Mini Cooper S and this JLU.

I jumped off the mini before it arrived, but with as many comminations as you can get with a Mini ordering becomes pretty important. Same with any other car really that has actual options.... Like the C7s, if you want exposed carbon fiber or want things the dealers don't order for inventory cars, or don't want things they do order for inventory cars, ordering is nice. Things like a manual transmission, or not wanting the glass roof, etc.

Also, kinda cool... The Jeep window sticker will come with "This vehicle was built specifically for [insert your name here]" on it.

There's actually a rail car shortage going on right now. It's impacting the entire industry. Vehicles are piling up on factory lots all over the country.

Strikes or :wat: ? You'd think at $1495 per car you'd get a private trailer.
