The rear subframe hit a high point in asphalt paving coming back from TN in August, with all of our luggage, tools, and with a grom in tow, the ass of the car is precariously low.

That's going to be too much tongue weight for me to tow it.

3 groms is under 700 lbs no?

It's not the gross weight, it's the tongue weight that concerns me.

Two up front would be more stable, but would have the ass end of the car too low, two on the rear would be too unstable.
No real good solution, other than bringing the truck full of bikes.

I have higher ride height, higher spring rate, and less weight on the ass end of my car so it's not quite the same.

I wouldn't expect loading a 900ish lb total trailer to have a 100ish lb tongue weight to be that unstable though?

The issue will come down to the real estate available on the trailer.

FWIW when I towed my stuff the trailer was about 6xx lbs with 75 lb tongue weight and I couldn't even tell it was back there if I didn't see it in the rear view mirror.

10-15% of the total weight (trailer + load) on the tongue is a good target.

Tongue height is important too...better to be pointing slightly downhill when loaded and connected. That won't be 's issue

yea my plan was two on the front mounts, one on the back, see if they fit. Will be close. if tongue too heavy, reverse, but honestly I don't think it will be too heavy on the tongue. Two big bikes was maybe a little tongue heavy on the GTI; 3 groms with one more rear biased than front is a no-nevermind IMHO.

ROW bros tow big ass caravans that are heavier than your bikes and have really terrible aero with only 5% tongue weight on floppy little Golfs.

You could probably set the thing up to have 30 lbs on the tongue and be totally fine.

they get away with that shit because the speed limits are lower too.

That said, our hitches are rated for 2k lbs in 'MERICUA ( ), we are well under that, AND we are well ballanced with recommended tongue weights..... we good
