I don't really wrench myself so from a service perspective it doesn't have much value. And I've only owned VW's for the last 13 years.
For LED tails I'm thinking about maybe picking up a set of the ones that are standard for 2018. They should be plug and play and not cost anywhere near $800+. A lot of forum bros will probably get rid of them for the euro LEDs so you could get them used on the cheap too.

What do they even look like compared to yours ?Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 23, 2017 1:23 pm I don't really wrench myself so from a service perspective it doesn't have much value. And I've only owned VW's for the last 13 years.

They look pretty nice. Euro ones are still a bit nicer though. And they're also standard on GTI's and some regular Golfs so they should be plentiful on the used market.
Here's all the cool colors the canadians can order for 2018.

I legit like the mk7 euro oem quite a bit, and have seen them locally for 400... they don't really need harness mods unless the end user wants exactly the same signal/hazzard lights illuminated like in Europe (orange thin strip flashing vs outer brake light flashing). They do need coding though.Gberg2119 wrote:I don't really wrench myself so from a service perspective it doesn't have much value. And I've only owned VW's for the last 13 years.

I'd like to see the new poverty LED setup in person. If they are a lot nicer then maybe it's worth swapping out the ones that come on the car currently for those instead. Pictures don't look much better then what we already have.

I think someone offered that fucker extra money after our deal was set and pick up date was established. There was only ever one person in that deal that ever mattered to and that was . Since it's proving to be a cultural thing i need to keep in mind next time I'm dealing with .
Washed and waxed for probably the last time before spring. I tried using the DA to remove some of the hazing left by the roof rack and I got most but not all of it. There are 2 dots above the rear doors.

I might have some leftover 3m stone guard film.... if you want me to mail it to someplace accessible to you i can do so for free. You can cut out four squares and put them on the part of your roof that the rack sits on.
Thanks mang but I'm not in any hurry to apply it now. Is the stone guard film the same or similar to laminx?Tarspin wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2017 5:45 pmBrutal.Gberg2119 wrote:Washed and waxed for probably the last time before spring. I'm not sure bud, they are probably all kind of same, cheap ones yellow after a few yrs but whatever. I'd go that route to keep the paint safe. Maybe even pay someone local a nominal fee to cut and stick four patches right where you need them. A good guy will charge like $30-50 bucks I'm guessing.Gberg2119 wrote:Thanks mang but I'm not in any hurry to apply it now. Is the stone guard film the same or similar to laminx?

What compound did you try?
I would think that M105 would take that out since I removed some nasty stuff with M105/M205 on a white Lake Country pad. Just make sure you start easy when using a cutting pad.
Fuck.
I used meguiars ultimate polish and an orange uber pad. I have meguiars ultimate compound as well but I didn't try it.
And Max, doesn't the BMW have those built in roof attachments? That's probably why there's no sign of it.

Ouch. That does suck, dude. Sorry
Maybe get it professionally detailed and then put some of that 3M film down before installing the rack again? If I ever get a roof rack I'll do the 3M film thing I guess.

I'm seriously thinking about full paint correction plus clear bra. NFG driving or worrying about messing up the paint.Johnny_P wrote:Ouch. That does suck, dude. Sorry

Maybe I'll try compounding it in the spring before the rack goes back on. And when it does go on I'll definitely be putting clear vinyl down for the feet.
