not much to add here. Is this Jason Camisa? I’m convinced he’s paid by Tessie if so. Putting down the same 0-60 or Nurburgring time does not make two vehicles equal. Tessies are fast appliances, not much more. Great dailies for some, but no one is turning around to give it a last look as they walk away in the parking lot.

Kinda, yeah. Hybrids are just sort of the new 'normal' cars. I feel like loads of people I know who give zero fucks about cars are buying up Rage4, CRV, Tuscon, etc. hybrids.

Well dc metro is considering to ban sales of new gas cars in 2035, but only plug in hybrids apply outside of ev.
When I was commuting downtown, getting only 19-21 mpg on the accord kinda killed me on the inside, but now that I started commuting to Tysons (but probably not for long), I get more around 24-27 depending on traffic.
Also hybrid versions are more expensive, so as far as savings are concerned in comparison to gas version, there really isn't much of a difference

good luck with that one. I don't foresee any of that stuff coming to fruition in a single decade. I'm a broken record, but they should invest in alternative transit instead (bike infrastructure, metro). DC is already so bike friendly, connectors to more suburban towns would be pretty cool.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 10:01 amWell dc metro is considering to ban sales of new gas cars in 2035, but only plug in hybrids apply outside of ev.

Meme was just for lulz.... But there is a stigma that accompanies EV owners, and hybrid owners now get the pass. when Hollywood starlets used to drive Priuses to show their support for early 2000s climate change shit? What inadvertently happened was :troll: fests towards other Hybrid owners. Back then, it was the motivation of the purchase that promoted the expressions.
Then came the EV, and Leo DiCaprio (and friendzz) took on carbon footprint photo ops with their "responsible" choices. Dude has over a million bucks in cars spanning numerous EVs all the way up to RR gas guzzlers and S class MBs. But it's the climate change msg that makes EV owners and promoters seem that little bit extra. :thanksleo:
Big picture, nobody GAF about anyone or anything anymore. There's no cool or not cool by standard definition. Be yourself, buy what you want.

Thats our mayor for ya, she has unrealistic expectations. The would just register their cars in PA, WV and the like if they have an address they can use. Besides some people that actually live in DC rocks MD and VA plates too. Also one of the main roads (where I used to commute), they dropped the speed limit from 30 to 25, they may possibly add cameras too, its a little slow for that road and doesn't have a bike lane. Also increasing metro fares. Imagine if you're a minimum wage worker and your hour worth of work just to commute....whoopieeeeD Griff wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 10:30 amgood luck with that one. Now that the weather is finally warming up, pretty sure I'll spend my chill Saturday riding the rock creek. I was really out of shape with cycling last time I've done that.

It's a free country, as long as you don't ask your friends or whoever who clearly has bit the EV rabbit hole would tell you to do the same. I just got back from SoCal. Tesla's might as well be the uniform of a car now. Granted theres lot of tesla's here, but not enough you see all 3 side by side first at light.Tar wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 10:59 am Meme was just for lulz.... Man the employee discount saved my ass on the S4. Diag, new master, new slave, new lines, and oil change for $700 all in. Non employee oil change pricing alone is $345.
I'm getting all OEM Sachs parts too.

That is epic dude. Sounds like that will enable the S4 to live to at least a half mill miles.

Exactly. Meanwhile the air quality in the Coachella Valley is atrocious. Dust has filled the skies for the last two days and will continue into tomorrow. Spring in the desert is straight up Grapes of Wrath dust bowl stuff. I feel like Tom Joad.
