That could fuck! Not a bad price if ya ask me. I would def look underneath, check the frame for rust, bent frame, etc. most of these have surface rust in the rockers and quarters like this one does.SAWCE wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 11:46 am Went snowboarding last night and driving through one of the small towns we go through I saw a beat to shit old Blazer for sale. Hopped out to take a look, thought maybe if it’s dirt cheap it could be a fun thing to just fuck around to the gym and up to go snowboarding in while also making life a little easier without being restricted to a single car for the house. Dude is asking $5,500 though, which for the condition of the exterior seems like double what it should be.

Shot the dude a text to ask for interior pics. He said the motor was rebuilt about 3 years ago, and there are probably 5k miles on this motor and transmission. I might actually have my pseudo-uncle come take a look with me.J-Ho-Fo-Show69 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 1:49 pmThat could fuck! Not a bad price if ya ask me. It probs does reek of menthol. I have found that upholstery guys right now are willing to completely redo interiors for what I feel is 5/7 pricing.
Recently got quoted to restuff all four seats on the TJ and redo in a marine grade leather with diamond stitching and the entire carpet plus sound proofing for like $2300! Which felt like a deal for a brand new interior.
But that K5 probs needs more work than a $2k interior refresh. However, these are really easy to work on. Rebuild the motor and trans for all less than like $3500/4k. The biggest bitch is gonna be if you need a new transfer case. You’re gonna want oem spec on that, not some auto zone refreshed pos.
I’ve always wanted a 68-72 convertible blazer. But alas, nice ones are like $100k

Yep. If the interior was decent, I probably could have been tempted by the rebuilt engine/tranny if he would have taken like 4.5k. As is though, this thing is dead in the water for me.
Yeah I’m 99% just kicking virtual tires out of boredom. If something epic pips up I’d consider jumping on it, but I’m in no rush to get a vehicle again and just enjoy looking at and thinking about shit.

The R2 is GLC size, but obviously with much more interior room and ideal packaging.
Funny enough, the only car I've ever had window issues with was my Civic with manual windows. I had to replace regulators on both sides!J-Ho-Fo-Show69 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 3:28 pm
