Kind of but that wouldn't be fun for me at all, I really don't like 200 person parties. Track day is more like paying the cost to be the boss. Yes, you're burning through consumables, track fees, you may need a bumper respray one day if you do it enough, but that is all a price you're paying to have fun. I will contest that it's a high price. If you're someone that really loves throwing a party, you're paying for food, booze, cleaning up for everyone, etc. but that's the price you pay for the entertainment.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 1:28 pmI am just saying...D Griff wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 1:26 pm
I mean... yeah. It is fun. I don't drive to work, I don't need a car for anything really. I can also afford to rent a car/Lyft or whatever if I have to. But it is very costly and not without risks, hence why I'm really more into cycling these days. It's just a better hobby for me right now fitness-wise, financially, etc.
It's like throwing a party at your house and having 200 people run through your toilet and get a few glasses smashed and a couch stained. Or... say you can rent a house with 0 consequences and do the same. Or a hotel room. Whatever, but going 10/10 on your own shit just wears it out and makes it a lot less than nice.

I tracked my Corvette a pretty good bit, like 20+ full weekends, and it absolutely put some wear on the car but it also was I did indeed go 10/10 on many occasions and even found 11/10 on a few and spun or went off track. It's not like you're blowing anything up, just wearing brakes, tires, suspension, etc. a bit more than with road use. Cars are meant to be driven.

$266/night for a 2 bed 2 bath condo seems pretty reasonable imo, no? most hotels are $200/night easy.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 4:44 pmThat's awesome and surprisingly pricy, But post up some pics I am always curious about finding out about new places.dubshow wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 4:30 pm

Gah, I’m having to manage my new inside sales rep, my one good guy is miserable and wants to quit, third one at least takes care of her own shit but has not much common sense. Add managing a team to my mounting list of duties for 30k less/year than I made in 2019….

My friend took his family here a couple years ago too. $220/no for a 2300sqft condo on the beach, and the little downtown area looks neat too.dubshow wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 4:30 pmOrange Beach, AL. The redneck/swamp ppl riviera.

Yah wife owns 51% of it now so we get a halfsies cut with her parents. We moved and bought a house in the burbs.
I grew up going to orange beach/gulf shores from 10 on. Lot of good times, even had my bachelor party there with a few members from here.CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 7:58 pmMy friend took his family here a couple years ago too. $220/no for a 2300sqft condo on the beach, and the little downtown area looks neat too.dubshow wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 4:30 pm

I met some friends for my first Spring Break in Destin @ age 19. Drove straight from Kansas with a buddy, 20 hours or so. Lots of coffee. Much partying. Got laid even. 5/7 good impression.

For sure. She was older...22ish.....pretty cool, but just cute, not anything stellar. A guy in our group, who was the high school jock 6'5" buffasaurus, of course hooks up with the hot blonde with the giant boobs. ....the cute chick's friend. Funny thing was after I rolled off this chick and we started talking, I find out buff is striking out downstairs because the hot chick is also a religious whacko.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 11:31 amFrom Kansas to Pound Town- A love storyDesertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 9:45 am

The crazy vs. hot graph, as much of an immutable truth then as now.
thats terrible man. My salary is stagnant now. I'm looking to pull some real large projects in. I've been transitioned to BD/Client Sales/PM for some small efforts or if the client mandates I am the PM.D Griff wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 6:23 pm Gah, I’m having to manage my new inside sales rep, my one good guy is miserable and wants to quit, third one at least takes care of her own shit but has not much common sense.
