Really the only difference now is I think they have a 48volt mild hybrid and the infotainment is touchscreen now so no more rotary controller.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 6:11 pmIt is 2018, there was also a convertible as well for the same price, but i give this a shot to see how i will like it

I lowkey like the dial idrive looking thing. Touchscreen is probably more intuitive to use. The mild hybrid system seems like a nice touch to get a better initial torque from the start.CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 8:44 pmReally the only difference now is I think they have a 48volt mild hybrid and the infotainment is touchscreen now so no more rotary controller.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 6:11 pm

Prius Prime acquired. Drove it home and used no gas.
It’s actually kind of quick and the 20-55mph full throttle mash in hybrid mode is legit

I saw a yellow one parked up the other day and ended up doing a double take. I like where Toyota is going with this.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 9:14 pm Prius Prime acquired. Drove it home and used no gas.

Is it different from taxi cab yellow ?fledonfoot wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 6:48 amI wish the yellow was available in the US market… but no.
I actually had a Prius rental again this week and interestingly liked it better. As silly as this is, I think not having the efficiency diagrams up on the gauges so I don’t see when the engine kicks on and off made me notice the droning less. Solid commuter car.
I’m not sure I’d go for the yellow because just so many taxis are Prii. Blue is the way.

MSRP for my Prime XSE (non premium) was $39073. I got it for $37,900. $4500 lease cash.
The premium XSE runs around $43-45k and gets JBL audio, power tailgate, solar roof and surround view cameras.
I did a 20k mile/year lease with inception fees ($1400) down and ended up at $490/mo. Sold the Frontier and came out slightly ahead on that.

That is a good looking Prius. Things I thought I would never say.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 1:53 pm MSRP for my Prime XSE (non premium) was $39073. I got it for $37,900. $4500 lease cash.

It’s actually surprisingly quick. Seats are great - very similar to the 1st gen FR-S/86 with good bolsters and the synthetic leather is soft to the touch. Standard audio is decent quality.
The ride is really impressive. Compared to the Corolla Hybrid I had, it manages the dull engine note well. The suspension is firm but compliant and it’s nicely isolated from the road.
Should be quite the commuter appliance.

Drive to work today - 47 miles. 76.8 MPG, using about 40% of the battery (I over-rode it into hybrid mode for a long stretch down the highway).
Averaging about 3.8 miles/kw so right around 40 miles on a full charge. The XSE has 19" wheels so it's rated for 39 miles BEV and 44 for the base model with 17's

Can you charge it at work or is it too slow of a charger for that? Curious what MPG it gets while running on hybrid alone. The rav4 prime was about 40 mpg.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 8:48 am Drive to work today - 47 miles. 76.8 MPG, using about 40% of the battery (I over-rode it into hybrid mode for a long stretch down the highway).

I can charge it at work, but it's 4-4.5 hours for a full charge on a level 2 charger. The PP has a 3.3KW on board charger, the RavPrime has a 6.6
