I 100% agree. I view Type R, GRolla, Golf R as $45K cars and have a hard time getting past that mark for them mentally.

Buddy is trading in his Taco for a Raptor probably gonna drive down to Utah with him to make the swap.

We just hit the road to pick it up. Truck is in Orem, UT. Dealer he’s grabbing it from offered him $40k for his Taco, which is $1k more than the best offer he got out here, so we’re road tripping down. We’ll crash tonight at my dad’s townhouse in Provo, then tomorrow while he grabs the truck I’ll head to the cemetery where my mom is and drop off some flowers, then we’ll start working our way back up to OR.

Raptor is $45k.. has high miles, ~80k, but he doesn’t seem worried about that. 2018. His taco is a 2019. He paid $36k for it in ‘20, so he’s getting a decent payout.

All started cause he was originally wanting to downgrade from the TRDPro to a lower trim and use the extra cash to pick up a dirtbike, but then we started looking at Raptors and decided to flip to the bigger truck and skip the dirtbike for now

Because you can't charge at home and fucking refuse to charge anywhere else. One single electric charging massive waiting/unavailabilty incident would put me in a Raptor.
Unless its my dedicated city car, which might happen. One car? Never, ever, ever, going to be electric only. Toyota hybrid rules the earth. 50 mpg+? Why on earth would I get a plug in car at those rates other than wealth and curiosity. Of which you have both.

I can think of a few reasons:

Build quality.

Peace of mind.

Not wanting to purchase from a company with a criminally dishonest dingus at the helm.

The Model 3 interior looks like it was designed by 2016 AI and is hideous.

All that aside, for $30k it’s extremely tempting. I think Eric’s points pertain to every EV other than Tesla only.

I think they are the second best looking tesla after the S. Nothing offensive. Most sedans are generally hideous it’s no better or worse.
