I dig the QPC, there's a double-QPC available as well... :fatty:
Double-QPC is also great, but sometimes I like the ratio of the single’s meat/cheese/bread a little better
Yeah, it's a fantastic ratio. I rarely ever get a double, if anything I :scrooge: out if I do go there and buy a McDouble, which is a double patty cheeseburger just because it's like half the price and probably has similar :meat: quantity, if you can call it that. My kids are starting to :nope: out on McShits as we explore healthier options, they're noticing how dirt it really is (coaxed by me analyzing "how we're all feeling after that meal". Thankfully that reduces my tendency to buy myself food there.

:dat: :wtf:

The lady is like 55 years old at least and she is like a middle school girl talking about everyone behind their backs and whatnot. :ohwell:

I will just :stfu: from here on out and try to avoid talking to these people as much as I can.
That's pretty embarrassing (for her), I find a lot of people act that way at work and I'm not sure why they think it's a good idea.

I was at Aldi last night and this kid was walking up and down the aisles with his family (probably four years old) and kept exclaiming 'so we're thinking McDonald's?!' and I couldn't help but be entertained.

This is a fantastic way to start the conversation about health with kids without bringing weight into it he equation. “How does this food make me feel after vs how does that food make me feel after.” Get then thinking in longer terms outside of that instant gratification that fast food is designed to bring. Bravo man.

I tend to pound chips. But feel like crap for a full day afterwards. Vs the other night Lisa made some awesome roasted carrots that I pounded and felt great afterwards.

Now I want chips.

Chips are the fuckin' worst (and the best). If I start, I'm not stopping until they're gone. I get so annoyed when Allison buys them, which is pretty frequent.

I do buy tortilla chips and usually put some on my taco salads (lunch pretty much every day while WFH). I don't have a problem if I just toss a handful on a salad/bowl for some crunch, but if I grab the bag and a bowl of salsa... game over. Or should I say, bag over.

I saw a really cool post broken out into different “age appropriate” ways to talk about the benefits of healthy foods. Planning on using that when we have one. I’ll dig it up and share it for anyone interested.

TGIalmostF. This week has been a bit :disgust: at work, so much shit to get done and kind of frustrated with management at the moment. I feel like every time I say/do anything I get a talking to from my boss about the stupidest :bs: Last week I got a talking to because I went out to lunch with this guy who took over my old position. He lives in Austin and I was out there, figured it would be cool as he's never met anyone on our overall team plus I trained him as he took over my old territory/role. Apparently he has sucked as far as productivity and 'doesn't deserve to go out to lunch' and I 'told him that he doesn't have to do anything' when I trained him, which is why he now sucks. I thought I was doing a good thing for boosting morale/team building (still think I was) and got torn apart for it... Just yesterday I suggested/asked our event team if we could get magnetic nametags for an upcoming trade show next month and bossbro sent me a sidebar email saying I need to 'run ideas like that by him' before throwing them at the event team. :wtf: it's name tags...

I suppose there will always be plenty to bitch about in any job. I generally like this role and this bossbro has really moved me up the pay ladder in a significant way, but I feel like I'm in this constant drama fuckfest triangle between him, the lady who manages the team I used to be on, and myself.

This weekend I'm going to Chattanooga for a big bike race in the hills/along the river with Allison, my best buddy/roommate from college, and his wife (who also went to college with us). They live in CT so pretty stoked to see them and do bike shit.
Man, dealing with multiple bosses or one that seems to want a lot of control is a :nope: for me. Been there, done that :disgust: because it does nothing toward making business progress.

The woman is no longer my boss/was only my boss for a few months. Her and I were colleagues for three+ years and then she was promoted to manager, shortly after I was promoted as well and we now report to the same director. The director dude hired me here and I've worked for him for four years now, gotten two promotions, it's been a good relationshit but recently has been sort of shitty.

:notsure: what happened, but whatever. I have to spend two days with him in Atlanta next week which I am not looking forward to.

Maybe the face time with him will be good. Not sure how open your guys’ line of communication is but you could possibly mention the two recent issues and ask if there’s something bigger that is going on.

Sometimes being a direct report to someone (rather than having a filter boss in the middle) can change the dynamic quite a bit. I ran into that a few companies ago where I really liked a director that was my bosses boss, moved jobs, got directly under that director, and :disgust: I didn't realize how much my previous boss was filtering for me.

I also agree with Brandon. Might be worth taking some time when you're with him to ask about business performance or objectives or whatever that might be driving changes in how you do things.

Yeah I've seen him once for a day since 2019... hoping that maybe the trip makes the relationshit a bit less weird. Trying to stay positive but I'm worried he will just be like 'you suck at your job, you cuck'.

Well, I reported to him directly for like three years, then a layer was added between us briefly, then I was promoted and report to him again. This is the same dude who gave me a big raise and worked with me on adding perks like WFH/flexibility when I tried to quit in 2019 and then made me a team lead/another raise last year. Ultimately he also hired me for this promotion but I think that was more driven by his boss TBH. :iono: not sure what changed. I feel like my attitude has actually gotten better. Like the first two years I absolutely hated my job here and tried to hide it but I'm bad about wearing feelings on my sleeve.

He also lived in SF so it's not like we've ever been in the same place at work.

imposter syndrome. Just talk with him. Ask directly if anything in your recent performance could be improved between now and the next review cycle. That will go a long way with a competent supervisor.

:dat:

I often have no idea what I'm doing in my job, and was convinced I'd be fired for the first 4 months. But I CONSTANTLY asked how I can improve and how I can learn when acknowledging mistakes, and now I still don't know what I'm doing, but I'm more confident to tackle things and know I have mgmt support.

Oh, interesting. Could be a business climate thing too. A lot of companies are tightening belts, which might be a good discussion topic.

I can make a bag of Doritos last a week and a half or so. I would rather some moderation than no chips at all.
