It was the cheapest model they had, and the one you had to buy first before you could buy some other model.

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.
I've actually seen 2 prototype Hummers around Detroit this week, and they're weird IRL. Absolutely massive and neat looking, but the belly is LOW. They try to hide it with black cladding and steps, but it looks like a cool truck body dropped on top of batteries (which it is). Still, I like it and am pretty shocked GM pulled it off. Doug seemed to like it quite a bit as well, but he was clearly at the GM proving grounds, and special access like that doesn't come to people that don't love the products.

Just talked to a coworker. He just traded in his 2015 JKU on a 2021 Silverbrahdo with 600 miles. The has leather and a moon roof, and the 5.3 motor. Listed for $53k and offered to coworker for $49.5. Coworker was until offered him $28k for his 7 year old with 93,000 miles. So he got a new for basically $21k out out of pocket. He paid $38 for the so $10k in depreciation over 7 years.
overall.

Decentish deal. That truck in normal times would have been low $40k, and will be again soon since there's nothing rare or unique about them.
But $28k for a 7 year old JK with 90k miles? That's so it probably all washes out.

My current working theory is the .com money losing car dealers are driving the top end (new cars) as well by overpaying for old pieces of shit “keeping the payments the same”… rising tide is raising all ships.

Exactly. It had a few stupid cosmetic mods on it, too. Some on the grill, eyelids over the headlights, red angel eyes, silly , etc,

every time I see an “angry” face jeep I think that the owner is some sort of low end drug dealer

Those grills are pricey! And they're not easy to swap. The fact that someone would spend so much time and effort to make the vehicle look so significantly worse/stupid is just to me.

Jeep mods are incredibly expensive if done right (you can spend 15k on shocks alone)... that said... Ima leave this here.

Those grills are fucking heinous. Probably my least favorite Beep Beep mod followed by huge with fake bead lock.
