All in all.... we got an extra 1500 square feet of living space a bedroom, office, full bath, laundry room, three big closets, an egress door with stairway and upgraded sump pump system. We ended up dropping about $24K. While the quality is marginal in places, I am certainly pleased with the quantity of work that was done for the dollhairs.
Next up, I actually completely sanded and refinished the antique table that is pictured above (4 pictures up). This was a job 25 years in the making and I took a bunch of pics......It was a process but wifey was pretty thrilled with the result.....

1500 square feet of finished living space for $24K is a pretty good investment. Hell, my house is 1650. You gained a massive space for activities bruh. Nice work, I'm just seeing all of it.

Man this looks fucking great! Huge add. Every time I see the thread title I think it is referencing a gambling junket to Nevada doe.

Thanks man. Yeah space between neighbors is cool but that hill in the back is a thorn in my side. Because from the top of it you can see for miles and its gorgeous farmland and mountains.

Thanks man! Yeah the thread title is perhaps not as clever as I had hoped.....Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 11:29 am Man this looks fucking great! Huge add. Every time I see the thread title I think it is referencing a gambling junket to Nevada doe.
I was playing with the duel meaning of abode as a domescile and also the past tense of abide.....and the dual meaning of abide which is to "put up with" but also "to live in" .....
Turbroedit
Dang I just discovered one can edit the Thread title....

Wow, really? even with the egress door? I'm surprised.

Yeah....(ANSI) guidelines state that below grade doesnt count but some realtors go ahead and include it in their lisitings. For appraisal purposes however the basement footage is assessed at a discounted rate off of the price per square feet above ground.

WIfe unit and I got this antique table from a coworker of hers back befor we were married..... In the dark ages.... literally 25 years ago
it has a built in Leaf that you can just kind of pop up after pulling the table apart and its likely built in the 1930's
It had been misused and abused before we laid hands on it...but that black spot was my first (and last) foray into DIY printer cartridge refilling.....
I had tried to use a chemical stripper on it back when we first got it but I didnt really have the space or the tools or the time or the experience or the patience to do it right (I was 28)

At last I started staining....
Alas the staining served to showcase many flaws ...many were of my own making (Using the wrong tools for the job)

And because of the flaws I kept hitting it with stain until it waaay darker than I had wanted.......
So I went an bought the right sander for the job....
This allowed me to remove all the gouges I had put in the table top using the wrong sander......

It also allowed me to go get stain with a little more red in it which is what I wanted....
It had grown way too cold for the stain and the poly to dry properly by this time....
Soooo... in the Spring I will redo the legs..... but over all I am pleased and I finished it in time to "present" it to my wife for her October 1st birthday.....

Oh... and I taught myself to make bagels ....
Yeast was really hard to come by during the plague...but after many tries, taking weeks, I finally scored some....
Stand mixer is a lifesaver in this process...
Proofing is also key, the dough doubles once, and then the formed bagels double again....
Boiling them is what makes them bagels rather than bread
I made Everything (with bought spices), Jalaepno CHeddar and Red Pepper-Garlic-Parmesan ( the last combo was good )
Cuban Sandwich on freshly baked, warm Jalepeno Cheddar bagel is one of lifes great pleasures......
Stupid commercial Only FaP will remember
