Thanks to a convo in 's thread, I got to thinking that this is a powl-worthy question. I'd say include everything, twice annual college moves included.
Since I lived at home during college, I've only moved 4 times in my long life.
How many times have you moved in your life?

Lets see:
1) Lived in the same house till I was 9 then moving to the house in Anatolian side (aka where I'm at right now)
2) Moved to US from Turkey at 11 to an apartment only with mom since my dad still lived in Turkey, that's roughly around 1 year and 9-10 months.
3) Moved from the apartment and parents bought our first house right before middle school (7th grade) here in the states
4) Moved the summer house in Turkey to a smaller house since mom had issues with the landlord, so moved onto my grandparents old summer house as they moved to a new home there. (sometime early high school I think) by the island ( I think I told you about this), it was finally renovated. Not really considered a move to me because we didn't have much stuff to bring over.
5) moved out of folks home for the first time, it was short lasted and realized being with roomies wasn't for me (when my mk7 was new)
6) moved back and felt happy, realized I have cool parents lol, they never even pushed me to do it since moving out after college isn't exactly in our culture.
7) Moved from the first house to my current house in the states, only about 5 miles away. Found a nice renovated house for a steal and got more equity before housing prices go down (and boy it did in the process, still sold about 30% more than it was originally bought)
I may be subjected for my 8th sometime in 2021 for sure.

We went on a travel visa to NY the first time, trying to become citizens. That didn't work, so we came back and then went to Canada to try and get asylum over there (due to the fairly recent revolution a few years back). They were processing us when we decided we'd rather live in 'Murica and we won the diversity visa, which basically protects us while we are fast-tracked through the citizenship process.wap wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2020 6:15 pmJust curious, was the with all those moves to and from Romania, and each time to a different place from there?razr390 wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2020 5:53 pm 1. Got to type it up before I vote just so I have it right,
Childhood....
Slovakia
Austria
Thunder Bay
Toronto (appt)
Etobicoke (townhouse)
Mississauga (house)
Adulthood......
Mississauga (semi-detached)
Mississauga (detached)
Georgetown
So nine moves, three are my own doing. I think we are good here and won't move short of becoming empty nesters or a natural disaster. Each house flip costs too much and is very disruptive. We are close enough to Toronto to be able to commute if we had to, so there is plenty of work and amenities without being right in the heart of the BS

14 is best guess, excluding high school dorm stuff. That was just clothes, pc and a small fridge. College was a good bit of moving. 6 different apartments with 2 interim short stays back at parents houses. 3 house purchases tho. The college moves were really easy from all the highschool dorm moving preps.
