CLA vs WRX. In4results. I think you'll have fun in the Rex. But I think the CLA will win for you.
The wrx has a usable interior and costs 1/3 to own. However I'm not sure about the road noise and fun to drive aspect. Will report back.
Come to think of it I have never driven one. Crazy
They are really fun. But ride a bit rough and yeah they have road noise. More noise than a MK6egg. I didn't care as it drove so much better than my car and that's what I prioritize.

I can't imagine a stock car riding rough, will report back

I thought the Rex and STI were about the same roughness wise. They smooth out as you go faster but are flinty at low speeds.
Yesterday I drove another volt, wrx, and GTI back to back.
The gti I drove was the perfect spec for myself, SE. It has leather, performance brakes, broken moon roof, nice lights and the fender stereo.
Overall I fucking loved the gti, ugh! It fixes everything I dislike about the tdi. It had power everywhere, a nicer interior, a great stereo out of the box.
However fail wheel drive was starting to show ... the front was struggling for grip at higher rpms and the traction control abruptly cut in, which was quite annoying and surprising with a car with LSD and "only" 220 hp. But we all know that engine is under-rated

The traction problem doesn't surprise me. And because of that, when it's hammer time it'll push wide.
I like the MK7, it's a good car overall. I just refuse to consider another VW.

So I think I need to figure out if could also make an A3 2.0t or a s3 work... they'd have to be used doe... which means epic waste of money in 2-3 years ...

Shoulda driven that hot little number to the right too.
WRX is a cool car - personally I am not into the big wing plus interior fit and finish is only meh..
I thought interior was actually pretty good. Everything you touch is solid and feels like it was made well. Dash and door pockets are hard plastic but who gives a shit about that?

The little things remind you of the econo roots, is there a next gen wrx coming ?

Yeah but probably not for another year. And I'd expect a carryover engine regardless.
Apparently the new Impreza is a huge leap from the current one.
