I think I liked the gayti the most out of all the ones that I drove ...
Btw they refused to let me drive the R, no test drives because rare.
Yet they just tossed the keys to the gti like it was nothing... didn't even come along for the ride

0/7 would buy a VW at MSRP. I don't car how much they give me on trade.

Is this retroactive? Like if you sold the coal roller on your own last year would you get a courtesy check from VW for a few grand to cover the losses? I'd hate to give up $10k on my GTI if/when they come out saying the 2.0 TSI had a cheat device.

Not at all, they just won't do anything outside of whatever VW has sitting on top of the hood, and or maybe even add markup.[user not found] wrote:So the gist is that if you have a TDI and are taking it in for your buyback, you can't take advantage of any current incentives and have to buy the car at MSRP?
That can't be right.
This has nothing to do with TDI and more like ppl coming in swarms loaded with cash.

I don't think anyone should be entitled to any additional discounts or incentives, honestly. The TDI buyback program is very aggressive and from what my customers have been telling me.
Agressive?
The VW Basically said that because VW is paying us why entice us further?!
It makes sense to throw another 1-2k on the hood for a disgruntled TDI owner that may go to Honda/Chevy instead. Why buy the brand that you didn't exactly left you feeling warm and fuzzy.
That's no money in the larger scheme of things and you keep them in the VeeDub fam.
I'd throw that 2k on top of a new golf R at sticker and call it a day.

I don't see the problem. Don't want a veedub? Fine, go get something else.[user not found] wrote:Oh.maxtdi wrote:

There's literally no reason for them to do that. They'll sell a metric shitload of new Golf and Sportwagen models to the disgruntled TDI owners.maxtdi wrote:[user not found] wrote:

Vw rejected my pictures of the signed documents and took 5 days to tell me that, so I had to reupload my signed letters in PDF.
Still waiting on the outcome. Once they give final approval I can choose a date of when to get rid of it
I need to figure out what to do with my oem parts... like the tails and headlights it looks like used eds lights and tails are worth the same amount as halogens so why bother putting them back

That's literally the only requirement. I could go plow throw a farmers market and as long as the car runs they'll take it

Pull all the emissions equipment and run a straight pipe and a dangerous tune for a while. Roll that coal.maxtdi wrote:They will accept "any non salvaged car running under its own power"wap wrote: Will they accept a "modded"car?

Hmm... that's an interesting thought... however the "pulling" of emissions requirement requires the dropping of the subframe and or some magical twists and turns to get the 3 cats + EGR+ DPF out... yea... 140lbs of emissions equipment to be the biggest earth destroyer since the two stroke lawn mower.Desertbreh wrote:Pull all the emissions equipment and run a straight pipe and a dangerous tune for a while. I used to. Now my lawn is too small to justify taking up the garage space with it.Desertbreh wrote:maxtdi wrote:

Two-stroke leaf blower and trimmer, doe.
