Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough

Bought three new bottles yesterday after I got an alert that Blanton's was available at my local store. Got there and found out it was a false alarm and they haven't had a shipment since June.
Got Bowmore 18, Glenfarclas 25 and Oban Distillers Edition.
Sampled a dram of each last night for the hell of it and since I hate having unopened bottles in the cabinet unless they are dupes. The Glenfarclas was a bit underwhelming if I'm being honest. It has very little nose to it at all. I don't think it's worth the $160 I paid.

I'm going to be hitting my stores every Tuesday and Thursday mornings just in case since that's when they get spirits.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 6:59 pm There should be more Blanton's deliveries in August
This time I'm going to buy every bottle they get.

I need to do another comparison tasting, taking notes.[user not found] wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 6:15 amI'm curious what you thought of those Pigs. I have opinions.
Last night I hit them a bit hard since I had a total crap week.
I like them all, but to be vaguely honest there is something I like about the farmstock more than the other ones.
Off the top of my head I would rate them as farmstock, 12 year and 15 year as my preference from best to least favorite. I don't really think the 15 is worth the price premium here.

So, my Tuesday and Thursday drop-in idea paid off today, big time.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 8:09 pmI'm going to be hitting my stores every Tuesday and Thursday mornings just in case since that's when they get spirits.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 6:59 pm There should be more Blanton's deliveries in August

Got 6 bottles today, 3 in the boxes with the bags. Trading the store manager 2 bottles of Jack Daniels Green label for 2 more bottles of Blantons that he's got tomorrow. I think I'll be set for a bit.

Hopefully September 13, pending the results of an echo cardiogram I have scheduled that morning. If everything looks good with the new valve then I can get off the coumadin, which is the drug that's preventing me from being able to imbibe.

I had my last drink on June 8, 2 days before my surgery.
Edit; I did seek, and receive, permission from my cardiologist to have ONE drink at my buddy's party this past Saturday. To maximize my opportunity, I had a half of a Moscow Mule, a quarter shot of Bourbon (nothing special, just JD sour mash), and a quarter shot of some delicious Serbian liquor.
I *may* have cheated on some of the quantities...

I wonder if it'll be like the other tariffs, meaning that all whiskey and wine goes up 25%... Guess it's time to quit drinking.

Absolutely. If competitive prices go up, what's keeping everyone else cheaper? LOST PROFIT OPPORTUNITYtroyguitar wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 12:50 pm I wonder if it'll be like the other tariffs, meaning that all whiskey and wine goes up 25%... Guess it's time to quit drinking.
FFS, these tarrifs are screwing us royally. I can't stop drinking, it's the only thing keeping me sane.

The only good news is "Scotch" prices are usually different from bourbon, rye, or other whiskey prices. SOOOO in theory, bourbon prices shouldn't be impacted. I hope.
