Sitting in the hotel now. Probably renting this one but it's not ready yet:CaleDeRoo wrote:Updates?

Likely move in date around 2 weeks from now.
With 2 parking spots I'll probably buy one of those new Focus 1.0T's for $14k if any are left.

Fuck wasting money and time on cars, especially with nowhere to work on one or keep it in decent shape. Hit up Jiffy Lube once a year and away. Apparently they even made them in green.

Why not the Scion iA thing? I'd trust that longer than a Ferd.

Our local fastest Stig is selling one of his 3 S2000s for $10K. If I was in the market I'd buy it for something to match the Vette to daily. I doubt he's got any parts on it tho, he's swapped so many performance things on em that he's likely got it nearly 100% stock.troyguitar wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 1:03 pmSitting in the hotel now. Eh, it's cheaper and has heated seats and steering wheel with a better seating position. Focus seats are actually low unlike most other cars. Seems about ideal for use without being totally to use as an appliance.Detroit wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 1:35 pmI just have an irrational hatred for Ford.troyguitar wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 1:32 pm

The $6k off is across the board on any Focus until they're gone, so you're looking at $16k as a maximum price since they MSRP for $22k. It's mostly a question of finding one with the 1.0T + cold weather package which is relatively rare. I'm seeing 84 left listed on cars.com right now.Detroit wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 2:09 pmHoly shit.troyguitar wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 2:08 pm

You could certainly do a hell of a lot worse for $16k.troyguitar wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 2:13 pmThe $6k off is across the board on any Focus until they're gone, so you're looking at $16k as a maximum price since they MSRP for $22k. I had a rental Fuckus a few years ago for about 3 days and I didn't hate it at all. It was more than fine, as said, for an appliance. I certainly liked it more than the Auris I had for a day a couple of years ago. That thing was

New thought: For half the price and actually available locally I could get a sedan with V6, AWD, heated and cooled seats, and a 5x114.3 bolt pattern to use my existing Kosei

That dash has aged well without the nav screen IMO. Also 3.5L and not the 3.0L

No backup camera sucks since it's all street parking here, but otherwise it seems hard to argue with something with so many features for so little cash.

Dude that works for me has one. It’s been decently reliable. Had some radiator and power steering cooler issue. But otherwise good for like 3 years now. Pretty quick cars.troyguitar wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 6:03 pm New thought: For half the price and actually available locally I could get a sedan with V6, AWD, heated and cooled seats, and a 5x114.3 bolt pattern to use my existing Kosei

You could also do a Lexus GS350 they seem cheaper than the IS for some reason.

I actually tried getting my mom into one of these before they got the 3.5L. That engine and trans will be reliable, and those are legitimately "cooled" and not just "ventilated" seats. Also I wouldn't worry about the back up camera. It won't keep other people from hitting your car.troyguitar wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 9:05 pmCaleDeRoo wrote:

Also my brother's Fiesta felt kinda slow, especially in second gear so I can only imagine a 1.0L Focus might feel lacking especially with the 6 spd auto.

The Focus 1.0 actually has much shorter gearing for 1st and 2nd in the auto than the (or the Fiesta's 5-speed) so it should be more lively in real world acceleration. 2nd gear tops out at like 54 mph in the auto vs over 60 on the 6MT.CaleDeRoo wrote:I actually tried getting my mom into one of these before they got the 3.5L. I think I've largely sold myself on the MKZ though, I'm going to go look at it tomorrow.
